Spent a couple of nights here in order to visit Rorkes Drift. Had stayed there some. 21 years ago so it was a sentimental return. Foy now runs the business by himself with the help of local staff and he keeps high standards. The rooms are typical of a colonial type property. They are comfortable and even have electric blankets...

This was a gem of a place hidden in the beautiful peaceful countryside near Dundee. The house and garden are immaculate and the house full of interesting pieces of history. The rooms were grand in keeping with the style of the house. Breakfast brilliant. The host was an amazing man who loved his house, cooking and his job. He is...

A beautiful old homestead filled with antiques and history but still retains a homely feel. The gardens were also beautiful despite the drought in the area. Our host, Foy Vermaak, is still one of the best guides in the area. Although we have done the battlefield tours with him before, our friends who joined us for the first time were...

On arrival we were greeted by our host and offered a refreshing drink from the bar, and after our long drive it was welcomed. Ann and the staff served dinner at the long dining table while stories of travels were shared amongst guests. Foy (your host) being a 6th generation Afrikaans, is a fountain of knowledge, and regales us of...

Our stay here was more like going to stay with grandparents in their home. The track to the farmhouse is quite rutted and if you're not in a 4 x 4 it will require careful negotiation. On reaching the house there was a warm reception from Foy and Ann and the dogs. The house has antique furnishings and there were...
