A very nice , comfortable, clean hotel with good sized rooms. No shortage of heating or hot water. All of the staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help with information or solving problems. The dining room was very light and airy and tables were always very attractively laid. The food was good and plentiful. The hotel...

All the staff have been extremely friendly and helpful throughout the long weekend stay. The food and the service have been excellent. I would thoroughly recommend the Highlander Hotel as a good base to go and visit some of the local attractions or activities.

Fantastic stay at Christmas. Large Clean bedroom and good size bathroom. If you need extra towels etc just ask the cleaner and it arrives in 5 mins. Staff were all very helpful and a stocking on every ones door Christmas eve. Santa and his Reindeer came at 7:30pm with the marching Bagpipers behind. Could not fault the Hotel and Staff....

Didn't stay at the Highlander but hired ski gear from Graham and Barbara at Ski Norwest, who are situated out the back of the Highlander. They were very friendly and helpful, and offered to reopen at 10pm (long after their closing time) so that we could pick up our gear and ski passes the night before skiing. We hired the...

A quick search of suitable B&Bs/ Hotels brought up Highlander in Newonmore Prices in Newtonmore in January are very competitive. As we didn't pay much I was expecting fairly basic accommodation etc. I write the review as we had a great stay. The...

We stayed in a family room for one night. Room was fine and fairly freshly decorated. The common areas are clean but very dated. Main issue was the food which was fairly bad. No-one became ill or anything but the choice was limited to 2 on each course and all the food was pretty bad. Staff were friendly and particular...

We (a couple) visited this hotel for one night on Saturday evening 2nd January and were real pleased with our room. I'd read a number of differing reviews (good and bad) about the rooms and that some recent reviews noted rooms were being refurbished. Well - we definitely had a refurbished room. Nice toilet and efficient shower. Only real criticism...

We visited the Highlander Hotel for 2 nights for a quiet break with our dogs. Being heavily pregnant we had no intention of skiing or walking etc, just a relaxing weekend away from home before the arrival of our baby. The staff were all lovely & exceptionally helpful, couldn't fault them at all. The food was tasty & there was...

We went here with family just before Christmas. It was our second time going and it was just as good as the first time. The staff are all really nice, and will go the extra mile to make sure you are having a good time. My daughter built a snowman and the man on duty gave her a carrot for...

For true Highland hospitality come to the Highlander, a hotel renowned for its good food and warm welcome. The hotel is an ideal base for touring the North of Scotland with mountain ranges, forests, lochs and river valleys waiting to be explored. Wind down in our inviting restaurant serving an array of dishes made from locally sourced produce.
