My husband and I booked through Ski Northwest, which I would also recommend. Easy to find, clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, great food. All boxes ticked, thank you. We would use this hotel again.

I stayed overnight at the Highlander on my way to Inverness on business. The room at £60 for B&B was competitive. It was clean and spacious although a little out-dated. Newtonmore is a decent little town, not a lot to do although there are a couple of pubs and hotels giving you some choice for dinner, and the Highlander also...

If you want an off-the-main-route overnight/weekend rest, then this is the place to stay. Obviously well patronised by regular clients, it shows good value and quality in a quiet environment. Newtonmore itself has seen better days when its high street was the main road northwards, now being the relatively new A9 - hence now a rather tranquil town.

Booked the hotel through SkiNorWest as part of the half term ski break package. Nice rooms and friendly staff. Food is OK, nothing exceptional, we have had a lot worse. Would book again. SkiNorWest rep was excellent would recommend them as a company if skiing in the Cairngorms.

This is our second time at The Highlander and we will be back next year again. Spacious room (for family of 4 and all our ski gear!), WiFi available now in all rooms. Friendly staff and relax atmosphere!

Lovely motel style hotel. Very friendly staff. Rooms of good quality. Bathroom in room we had just been upgraded I think. Lovely and fresh. Food was very good. Fresh breakfast, not hot buffet so everything was hot. Nice filter coffee. Hotel is also pet friendly. Lovely hotel in a lovely location. Great for walks. Will definitely be returning. In fact...

The hotel it self is by the main road, but in a little village, CO-Operative shop is just around the corner. Staff very friendly and helpful. Its quite a big place, so if its full, you might need to look where to park you car. A bit noisy. Room it self wasn't very clean, but tidy enough. NEW BATHROOM fitted,...

We stayed here for their New Year celebration as part of a coach party. The hotel is in a beautiful location within easy walking distance of the village and was nicely decorated for the festive season with spectacular coloured lights, tastefully used. Cleanliness is impeccable and the service is prompt, cheerful and efficient. Our room and en-suite was clean, comfortable...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
For true Highland hospitality come to the Highlander, a hotel renowned for its good food and warm welcome. The hotel is an ideal base for touring the North of Scotland with mountain ranges, forests, lochs and river valleys waiting to be explored. Wind down in our inviting restaurant serving an array of dishes made from locally sourced produce. Perhaps a wee dram from the bar would suit; choose a whisky from one of the many local distilleries for which this area is famous for throughout the world. ... more   less
