Just returned home from a fabulous week in Scotland staying at Alvey House. The photos don't do this house justice as the location is beautiful, peaceful but perfect for local amenities and walks. The house is huge, plenty of room for 16 of us, spotless and the best stocked kitchen in any rented house I've stayed in. The house has been adapted, soft cushions, excess ornaments removed for the current Covid situation. This made it really easy to keep clean and tidy. The house has a comfortable ' lived in' feel to it which is really important with children as we'd never book a house with cream carpets and furniture. The gift basket and gorgeous flowers on arrival were a lovely touch. The fabulous weather was also unexpected. Wish we'd booked for 2 weeks.

We booked this house for our annual History Club trip, we had the most amazing time, the house was absolutely fantastic, very well equipped, lovely and warm and all the rooms were cosy and comfortable, a real home from home. We loved the lounge with the fire and the views from the lounge was stunning. Great location and close to so many activities, we could not fault this house.thank you for having us.

Loved this house when we had a family birthday celebration here. Loads of room for 12 of us and 2dogs. Beautiful setting, shops and eateries nearby. Lots of bonnie walks and things to do. Garden safe for dogs. House had everything we needed - and more. Only wee moan is that showers lack a bit of power - not a problem for us, just an observation. Would love to come back.

A group of us come to Scotland every February for hill-walking. This year there were 15 of us. Alvey House is the best place we have ever stayed. In fact, we wanted to book again for next year but were sadly popped to the post. Highly recommended self catering place. Easy to cook big meals for a lot of people. Easy for everyone to find their own space as well as group time. Brilliant!
