We stayed Friday and Saturday night at the Saracens Head - what a treat. We stayed in room 12 which was large, very comfortable and had a great view of the river. The pub was very busy when we arrived early afternoon but the staff were really friendly and helpful and found time to answer our queries AND help us...

We have stayed here twice once for one night, and returned in February this year for two. The staff are brilliant, quite remarkably so, along with everything else. I simply can't fault the place, the food's amazing, I don't think iI have ever had a better breakfast, and clearly the restaurant is a "destination". The rooms have amazing views over...

We used to love coming to the Saracens Head for dinner, great portions & good choice on the menu. I used to like the garlic roast potatoes & hubby loved the huge mixed grill (neither of which they don't do anymore). We'd not been for many years, mainly because it's usually fully booked & with hungry kids after a walk/ride...

A fantastic inn with excellent facilities. It's a very popular pub but all the staff have more than enough time for you. Residents automatically have a table reserved all evening, just as well because it does get busy, and it's worth it because the food was wonderful. We stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms, with a balcony overlooking...

We love this place and try to visit during long walks by the river. Unfortunately so does everyone else! At weekends and on sunny days it is hugely popular, even filling outside tables on both sides of the road! We went on a lovely cool Monday and managed an inside table by the wood burner. Our family, visiting from Dubai, were...

We ate here after having a hike along the river. The views are spectacular and the food was awesome. My uncle had the club sandwich which was the best I have ever tasted. Traditional-Huge bowl of "chips" and we enjoyed a drink while soaking up the sun. All of the meals being delivered around us looked fantastic. Great service, great...

From the moment I entered the Inn I was so happy with the way I was treated. All of the staff were exceptionally polite and made sure that I had everything I needed. The food was of a very high standard and not only that there was plenty of it I don't think anyone would leave feeling hungry, The Inn...

...I have to say I loved the responses the PR of the hotel gave to those dissenting voices who reviewed the hotel/pub disparagingly, and whilst waiting for food at lunch listened to some of the curt responses given to customers, so knew what to expect. The bottom line is the location is outstanding and therefore the quantity of custom sometimes...

My friend had raved about her stay at the Sarecens Head Inn so thought we would give it a go and so glad we did. What a hidden treasure this rustic pub is, we could not fault it. We were allocated room 3 which was beautifully clean, well decorated, comfortable and with a picturesque view overlooking the river. I also...

This was our fourth or fifth visit to the Saracens Head and we are never disappointed. The location is beautiful, atmosphere relaxed and friendly and refreshingly unstuffy, and food delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
