We so enjoyed our mini break Staff so helpful hard working great entertainment the team really outstanding Great choice and tasty fresh food. The all inclusive package is a must. Then you can just kick back and relax by the pool or private beach ⛱️ Thank you AluaSun Doblemar La Manga we will be back for our comfy beds and great views.
We came to visit as a result of a cancelled netball tour, and based on the previous reviews did not have high hopes. We were entirely mistaken, the hotel was absolutely fabulous! None of the bars near the hotel were open but that didn’t matter to us as we knew we were out of season (and also - not the hotels fault!!!) Location is between the wonderfully warm (and shallow) Mar Menor, and the beautiful slightly chillier Mediterranean. The hotel is right on the beach and you can chose to sit on a lounger either on the beach or by the pool. Plenty of sun beds and sun shades. The hotel has a small pool for young kids and a small adult pool, but for us this was perfect (we aren’t big swimmers and the beach was literally a 5 second walk). Room was fine, we stayed in triple rooms so the third bed was a camp bed, nothing special, but as expected. Was clean, and tidy, probably not the decor I would expect for a 4 star hotel as was a bit dated, how we this was not a worry for us. Restaurant food and drinks availability was great, plenty of choice and fresh food cooked at every meal. Slight criticism was that the scrambled eggs at breakfast were always cold, but I just didn’t eat them again, there was plenty to choose from. The bar was excellent, Gordon’s gin included in the all inc. bar (perfect!!), no light tonic, but I think this is potentially as it isn’t available in Spain (?). The queue for the bar most of the time was fine, however on the Saturday night, we waited several times for 45 minutes, which was really frustrating, however we did only experience that once in our four day stay. Overall we had an absolutely fabulous time and given the price, I have nothing to complain about. Thank you so much for making our visit to La Manga entirely fabulous!!!…
We came out for one night as this 1.5 hours from our holiday home in spain , booked on the morning booking.com for 80 euros breakfast lunch and dinner , this place is unbelievable the food is absolutely stunning, the staff can not do enough for you , the place is absolutely spotless, they even have complimentary drinks with lunch and dinner , we loved our stay so much we booked another night which they honoured the price we had booked and the next day couldn’t bear to leave so booked another night again with the honoured discounted price . I wish I could give this hotel 5* but can only do 4.9 as the place is a little dated but didn’t bother us as we spent so little time in the room , I honestly can’t fault anything, DEFINITELY worth a visit.
Wanted a simple, 3-night sunny break and this hotel offered my daughter and I a perfect base. Hotel is large and has been refurbished to a high standard. Area surrounding the hotel is however in desperate need for redevelopment. There are lots of closed, run-down nearby, a real shame. Staff at hotel really professional and friendly, some spoke a little English which was appreciated as we speak no Spanish. Particular thanks to Jose and the bar and restaurant staff who work so hard. Food is a buffet, and dining is by sittings so never too crowded. Selection of dishes varied and appealing. Deserts weren’t great. Plenty of sunbeds and the pool and beach area is immaculate. Entertainment team, particularly the bingo caller just lovely and made an effort to get us involved (as the only English folk) thank you. Overall a terrific hotel - thank you for looking after us and wishing you all the best.…
Very enjoyable stay at the Doblemar , If you live a relaxing stay this is the place to be.I live in Spain so have many choices but always, stay here if available . The views from the balcony are the best , the small beach area in front of the hotel is great for relaxing days. The food is varied and always something to eat. The price you pay and what you get is amazing. Spotless rooms great staff , shout out Sergio entertainment never stops working. Will return next year
Went to this hotel for a couple's weekend away, on the up side the room was nice and clean and the outside areas were well cared for. On the down side there was not enough staff and a few of the staff that were there can't be described as helpful. An hour queue to check in and no parking anywhere near the hotel despite being advertised it was a ailable onsite. Also half an hour queue for access to the restaurant in the evening and then didn't feel like four star more like a cafeteria. Children's entertainment started at 9.30 PM and was deafening and went on towards midnight. This is a very traditional Spanish family hotel, if you like busy noisy and disorganised it's good. I always try to put something positive on a review, so here goes, plenty of hot food and drinks at meal times and a clean hotel. Although I have moaned about the staff I feel the problems were not their fault and firmly lies with the management. A special mention has to go to Alfonso on reception who went above and beyond to help us out. I don't like to only give 2 stars and I am aware of the Covid related issues but can't legitimately give more if I'm honest.…
Turned up on march 10th to find hotelclosed and being refurbed owner sorry and book us in hotel down road which was not allincluise and had to pay for drinks and snacks.on the beach holidays did not know it was vlosed and no refund offered this is a crap company to book with and would never go to merica roc doulbemar again
Pleasant stay at the Roc, 4 star it's not ,the views are great the mar manor on one side and the med on the other ,rooms spotless, no tea coffee machines in rooms, breakfast buffet scrambled, boiled eggs beans Luke warm evening buffet much the same not warm and not of a 4 star quality .As the roc is on la manga strip at this time of year the strip is closing down for winter ,that includes the roc there is no entertainment in the hotel only Friday Saturday Sunday ,the hotel took good money from us for two weeks all inclusive with a nightly entertainment programme that didn't happen ,we won't be back at the roc .
View from our hotel room was beautiful (615). We stayed from 26th Oct - 2nd Nov. We went as two couples just looking for a small reasonably priced all inclusive break, reading the reviews before going I was incredibly worried. DONT BE! Food choice was great but uninspiring some nights, breakfast is the same each morning a little cold but lunch and dinner never had a problem! Rooms were always clean and if we didn’t remove the do not disturb until early evening to go out, we’d still come back to a freshly clean room. Can not fault the staff anywhere. Walls are a little thin though, could hear the snoring from one neighbour and the muffled conversations from our other neighbour which luckily was the other people we travelled with... We generally had everything to ourselves until the last Thursday of our visit so it was really quiet and relaxing. I highly recommend going in quieter times, the last two days of our holiday were swamped with people and it was horrendous. We gave up trying to get any food at breakfast due to the queues going round the restaurant it was crazy. We’ve all said we would definitely return to La Manga but do more research on where we stayed, we loved the hotel but there’s not a lot open around it but further up there is. If you’re unable to walk too far jump on the bus that goes to Cartagena! We had a girls shopping day and a return trip was only €6.60 each but would be less if you’re only travelling along the strip. All in all ignore the reviews slating this place, it’s beautiful. Beach’s are clean and beautiful. Hotel is fairly modern compared to most Spanish hotels! Would recommend this place any day! …
Booked this hotel for a last minute holiday as the price was so good & looked nice. We arrived at lunchtime & had a warm welcome when we arrived. Our room was all ready & we went & unpacked. I only booked a normal room but ended up with the amazing view of the pool & beach (826) The room was fine, had everything we needed for our holiday. I unfortunately was meant to book half board but in the rush of booking it only did bed & breakfast. I asked for the option to upgrade & the lady said it was 15€pp per night. We decided against this as it was a little expensive just for the evening meal. Unfortunately like the other reviews the food wasn't great. In the evening there wasn't actually that much to choose from, & the breakfast was cold the next morning & it had only been open an hour. So we were glad we didn't pay that money for half board. We as a couple aren't big drinkers but just for a fizzy drink & small beer was 7€. I had a look at the menu for the drinks & it was pricey, 10€ for a gin & tonic. At this time of year nothing was really open & theres not much around if you want to explore without getting a bus. We made do though & just walked until we actually found something that was open! The restaurant right next door was FAB! All in all for the money we paid it was fine, but there is a few bits that could have been better but wouldn't say it's a 4* hotel.…
