We were visiting La Manga for a friends wedding, and chose to stay on the peninsula at the Doblemar rather than further away on the mainland.

On arrival we found that there is almost nowhere to park. The driveway was short and thronged with vehicles, and the small carpark out the back needed a special card which can only be acquired after check in (and it turned out to be full anyway).

Even though it was mid-afternoon there was still a long queue for check-in, and despite 3 staff on the desks it took almost half an hour before we were served.

The rooms themselves are totally fine, clean with everything you need. Despite the size of the hotel and it being very busy it was quiet at night and we slept well.

Breakfast had a huge range of options with hot food, pastries, bread, cold meats, fruit and yoghurts. There was a big queue to get into the restaurant, and queues for the drinks. At one point they ran out of bread!

The pool and terrace looked good, but unfortunately we did not have time to use them.

We've just got back from 9 days staying at this hotel in La Manga. All in all a good stay; we had paid for a room on the Mar Menor side but were first allocated a room with views of a building site which clearly had been left unfinished. The room also had flooring which was lifting and the balcony light was hanging off. We raised the issues with reception and they immediately moved us to another room overlooking the pool and was great. Secondly, the pool is small for the number of guests and in need of refurbishment with peeling paintwork around the edges and in need of a good clean as there was evidence of some algae around the edge of the pool and the showers. Thirdly, and most irritating, were the mosquitos. We hadn't considered this but as the Mar Menor is a lagoon-style sea, this attracts the midges. They were in the hotel, especially at night, and we got bitten quite a bit.
So remember the insect repellent, make sure you ask for a different room if not satisfied and you will have a good time. All in all, a good holiday but we probably wouldn't go back.

We found this a very clinical hotel. It was spotlessly clean. The Dining Room was self-service with plentiful non-exceptional breakfast foods. We were allocated the 8.00 to 9.30 am breakfast spot. This was followed by the second 9.30 am sitting.

The linguistic limitations of desk staff was not helped by the total absence of information in the bedroom in respect of hotel facilities and tv channels. There was a bedside phone that was totally ignored by the overworked Reception desk.

In the middle of our 7 day visit the internet password was changed and we ended up without internet access for days…Customer Service at the desk was “you were the only ones with the problem” despite the fact that our US relatives had the same issues.

The evening bar entertainment was over-crowded. We went locally instead.

Our room overlooked an abandoned twin hotel premises inhabited solely by swifts. Try to avoid that side of the hotel. The premises across the road on the Mediterranean side are similar.h abandoned. If you can, get a room on a lower floor as the five lifts are not sufficient.

Don’t rely on Desk Reception for a transfer taxi to the airport. It is totally unreliable and proves difficult if you need to catch a flight.

There is a very reliable local bus service that travels in ea h direction every 30 minutes.

If you have, or if you hire a car try to get a car parking space on he premises. Places are limited. Price modest!

Finally, not bad for the money! Reasonable value.

We came out for one night as this 1.5 hours from our holiday home in spain , booked on the morning booking.com for 80 euros breakfast lunch and dinner , this place is unbelievable the food is absolutely stunning, the staff can not do enough for you , the place is absolutely spotless, they even have complimentary drinks with lunch and dinner , we loved our stay so much we booked another night which they honoured the price we had booked and the next day couldn’t bear to leave so booked another night again with the honoured discounted price . I wish I could give this hotel 5* but can only do 4.9 as the place is a little dated but didn’t bother us as we spent so little time in the room , I honestly can’t fault anything, DEFINITELY worth a visit.

My fiancé and I booked a short stay here to celebrate my 50th birthday.

The reception team were understaffed for a hotel of this size with only one member of staff available for check-in. Whilst this member of staff was pleasant, she could not speak any English which I find very strange considering the majority of hotels around the world have multi-lingual staff.

Our (Mediterranean) sea view room was clean and pleasant but only had twin beds and was noisy with the sea wind, so when we asked if we could change rooms to the other side of the hotel (Mar Menor), to get a room with a double bed, we were told that the other side was “more expensive” which didn’t quite answer the question and left us feeling that staff thought we couldn’t afford it, despite being prepared to pay the difference had that have been an option and so the conversation came to an abrupt end.

We were staying all inclusive and found that the bar staff team were very friendly, professional and helpful throughout our stay which is more than I can say for the restaurant team.

Our experience with the restaurant staff and poor quality of the food was the biggest disappointment. Upon entering the restaurant, the host was disgruntled that my partner would not use hand sanitiser. We told them several times that she had a skin allergy with sanitiser, yet we received a look of disgust when this was refused. There were limited options available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On our second day we were served raw chicken and wanted to give them the benefit of doubt the following day and returned, but the final straw was when I asked one of the chefs whether the meat he was serving was beef and he said that it was. I checked twice with him and he repeatedly said that it was. We soon discovered that it was pork whilst eating eat, which I have a stomach problem with but more importantly, my fiancé is a Muslim and it is forbidden for her to eat pork. Needless to say, we were both taken ill that evening.

We then had no choice but to find alternative food sources outside of the hotel which defeats the object of booking all inclusive.

Upon writing to Hyatt to make them aware of this experience, their response was very underwhelming, disappointing and very corporate.

Would urge people to think twice before booking here!

Wanted a simple, 3-night sunny break and this hotel offered my daughter and I a perfect base.

Hotel is large and has been refurbished to a high standard. Area surrounding the hotel is however in desperate need for redevelopment. There are lots of closed, run-down nearby, a real shame.

Staff at hotel really professional and friendly, some spoke a little English which was appreciated as we speak no Spanish. Particular thanks to Jose and the bar and restaurant staff who work so hard.

Food is a buffet, and dining is by sittings so never too crowded. Selection of dishes varied and appealing. Deserts weren’t great.

Plenty of sunbeds and the pool and beach area is immaculate.

Entertainment team, particularly the bingo caller just lovely and made an effort to get us involved (as the only English folk) thank you.

Overall a terrific hotel - thank you for looking after us and wishing you all the best.

The views from the balcony are the best , the small beach area in front of the hotel is great for relaxing days. The food is varied and always something to eat. The price you pay and what you get is amazing. Spotless rooms great staff , shout out Sergio entertainment never stops working. Will return next year

In the reception not English speaking people or if yes in very low level.
Very poor all-inclusive with many times old food and low quality food, most of it is artificial one (pouder or sirup).
Opened only one bar during day with token system and you can get only 2 drinks. Most of the drinks extremely sweet and artificial one. Coffee terrible from the machine for all-inclusive in the bar you had to pay even if in the menu is mentioned for free for all inclusive. Bar staff mentioned that is error? Snack bar open only two times per day and controlled very strictly, you cannot go even without shoes or clothes even if it is beach snack bar?
Not many things for small children available. Animators having same program every day in the evening with same songs, annoying.
Laguna full of seaweed with mosquitoes which are in lower floor rooms.
Sea is nice not far away from the hotel.
Rooms are good with good housekeeping.
We do not recommend this hotel. It does not correspond to a 4* hotel including all-inclusive service. Not worth the price offered. Even as last minute, it is overpriced for what it offers.

Booked this hotel because of the Hyatt name and ownership, however this is such a poor hotel. All entertainment is in Spanish and the staff positively avoid you, delay serving you and treat you as if you shouldn’t be there once they know you’re English. The bar staff are beyond rude and the drinks are the most watered down I’ve ever experienced. The hotel is plagued by mosquitoes and there seems to no attempt inside the hotel to deal with this. The surrounding area is very run down. The food is horrific, serving raw chicken and then telling us that this is how Spaniards eat it (see pictures attached 🤢) . Stupid rules like no fruit juice at lunch or dinner only carbonated drinks , can’t leave your bed to go to the toilet without your towel being removed from sun bed, compulsory hand sanitizer or not allowed into dinning hall. The lifts are terrible you can wait a ridiculous amount of time for them which if on the tenth floor is painful.

The plus sides are: The view across the Mar Menor are lovely, the beach is pleasant, there is a pizza place next door which saves you having to eat raw chicken, the English speaking male receptionist was particularly pleasant and helpful.

I can’t believe Hyatt have put their name to this hotel and would certainly not recommend to anyone.

The location of the hotel is great, the rating of the hotel corresponds to 2*, cockroaches in the room, food around semi-finished products.
the terrace door could not be locked, anyone could come, we were in the 1st floor. during lunch the children could not have juice, only carbonated drinks. the beds in the room move apart, it was not a "double bed".
