We were here 28 April till 4 May. It’s a lovely apartment, very clean and the best equipped SC place we have stayed in. One of the reviewers mentioned there was no housekeeping, this is because it is not a hotel but an apartment. There was a weeks supply of clean towels and clean bed sheets in the wardrobe. LaManga is unique because it has water on both sides, the Med on one side and a lagoon on the other side. The Lagoon beach was 2 minutes from our apartment and the other beach is 5 minutes across the road. There was a lovely Spanish Tapas bar on the site called El Rincon De Borja, looks very basic but food is delicious, lots of other cafes and bars close by. We had a few meals in a bar called Surfing which were delicious. So to recap, brilliant apartment, not a hotel, lovely beaches, what is not to like. We would definitely come back. …
Nice apartments in between the Mar Menor and the Med strange pool with nowhere to sit . Good size rooms with decent air conditioning clean and comfortable. Overall very good with great wifi very close to shops and beaches.
Booked via Booking.com who stated that a credit card was required to confirm booking but would not be used. Tesy deducted 30% of the total bill a week before I arrived and the rest the day I arrived - we arrived late at night and were not able to check in immediately since the office was closed. No discussion, no offer to use an alternative payment method, which basically messed our finances. Bad start. However, much worse - the photos don't show you how you are staying in rows of "barrack" type apartments looking over at each other. The picture in Booking.com MUST be from somewhere else because NO apartments in these blocks lead on to a beach of any sort. Around 200-300 school children of early teens age turned up each Monday by the coach load. The noise was incredible! I'm sure they had a lot of fun but at the expense of those that would have liked at least a few hours of peace and quiet at some point during the day. The kids colonised the pool so we couldn't use it - their teachers/coaches organising games etc and again, the noise was absolutely unbearable. At the weekend - when the kids went home to parents - all the weekenders piled in and very large numbers of people squeezed into tiny flats and sat out on the terraces laughing, talking and playing music til around 3-4 am. We tried to get some sleep during the day to compensate, but it wasn't really how we wanted to do things. The apartment was very basic, very old furniture/linen/decs. It was clean on arrival with plenty of spare white towels and sheets when we arrived but NO HOUSEKEEPING WHATSOEVER. This is a first for me - the maids usually turn up at least a couple of times a week and have a cursory clean and change linen or at least make beds but no one came - EVER. There were only two of us sharing a one bed apartment, so it was easy to keep clean and tidy, but I can't imagine how the large Spanish families and kids fared! So glad to be home for a good rest and I would never return - it felt like torture. The resort itself was amazing - with the med on one side and the lagoon on the other. The jelly fish in the lagoon were massive clear/white coloured and looked like Portugeuse Man O Wars plus the "beaches" on that side had a high clay content so felt dirty and stained clothes and towels. The Med side was wonderful with beautiful white, sandy beaches, lots of beach bars and the beaches went for miles and miles. Cartagena was FANTASTIC - beautiful historic city with so much to see. Roman amphitheatre of over 2000 years' old and fantastic architecture. Really felt like a mini Rome and the bus from the main strip cost us 3 euros each for an hour's bus ride so fantastic value. So disappointed with the property and with Booking.com for misleading us regarding payment. If you know upfront, you can plan these things. Also found out that booking direct is enormously cheaper - insult to injury! One saving grace about the apartment is that it had a washing machine which was really useful since the "launderette" advertised on the property site never opened. The "season" is very short here - basically July & August - and since we travelled in June, lots of places were just starting to clean up and get ready for the high season - many remained closed. Food and drink is very reasonable if you eat out and we walked to the hypermarket and bought masses of stuff and got a cab back for 4 euros so that worked well. Cooking utensils were in very short supply together with some other, fairly essential items (e.g. clothes pegs to stop your washing blowing away - and there was plenty of wind some days) so we bought a few bits at a massive Chinese shop with most things costing a euro or under. We were very badly bitten by mosquitos and had to buy plug in pills, citronella candles and wrist bands. Our purchases decreased the number of bites slightly but their severity was much worse than I've previously experienced - turning into large, pussy lumps and itching so much, you felt you were going mad! I can only assume that was due to the proximity to the lake... Be warned though - if mozzies like you, you WILL suffer! I normally take stuff with me but just forgot this time and I did wonder how effective the stuff was that I bought there - it could be that it would have been a better experience if I'd take tried and trusted products. This must be longest review I have ever written and mostly negative so all in all a very disappointing property but an amazing resort so would definitely return but NEVER to Tesy. We are very gregarious people so made a lot of new friends and contacts, so will book privately in future for what I am sure will be an amazing experience.…
I had s two bed apartment with my husband, three boys and my elderly mother for a few nights recently. The accommodation is basic but spotlessly clean. Facilities in the apartment were excellent, full cooker, washing machine, tv etc. we were off season so the pool wasn’t open however we were just steps from the Mar Menor beach and a few metres from the Mediterranean. There is a great little spat shop within the complex and a decent number of little bars and restaurants within walking distance. We hired a car so did a day trip to Cartagena which was beautiful, we visited a market village nearby and we lunched at Cabo de Palos. Great spot for a real bargain break in the sun.
Everything was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The bed was pleasant to sleep in. The apartment had thin walls, you could hear the neighbours talking, using the toilet and closing the doors. The place had an unpleasant smell, after checking we discovered that the drain hose of the washing machine wasn't connected properly and leaked dirty water. Place is good for people/couples with children who want to do beach vacation. There's enough supermarkets arounds and the nearest bigger city (Cartagena) is a ~30min car drive away.
Although we couldn't check in until after 5pm it was quick and problem free. When we saw our room it was a pleasant surprise. The apartment was clean and spacious with a view of the beautiful Mar Menor in addition to this, very close to the stunning Mediterranean beaches. The pool however did offer a limited service while there as it was only open from 12-3 in the afternoon then 5-9 in the evening. There were many places to choose to eat, drink and relax but no clubs, which was good for us.
