This site is definitely not for a touring visit, the place is like an overdeveloped shanty town where a large number of the pitches have been converted to permanent residence diy cobbled together abodes. Given the materials used and the spacing between dwellings it’s a fire just waiting to happen as well as a complete eyesore. The toilet blocks are a mixture of being ok and unacceptable, cold showers and dish wash, broken fittings and lash up chemical emptying points, avoid unless desperate!
I am coming here since 40 years but still i think it should be looked after a little better. and what about a dogpark? there are so many people with dogs, me included, that it would be probably fun for them to play a little bit together. and for sure to clean after your dog.
Our bungalow was nice and that is the only positive comments we can say. The camping is mostly occupied by living-in residents with all sort of permanent dwellings. There is parked and driving vehicles everywhere so we couldn’t let the kids play or explore on their own or simply kick the ball outside the bungalow. There is no grassy areas available and hardly any shade. The bins were overflowed with rubbish everyday the 7days we were there in addition of plenty of rubbish around the campsite, beach, pools, car parks, etc. The giant pool and slides, which were initially the headline of the place was overcrowded and the water had a milky colour and a smell. We were a group of 10 and 3 of us got ear infections and one gastro. Doctor confirmed that ear infection was external from swimming in dirty water. The kid playground had no shade and on a dirt open space - unusable in August. The entertainment was also a disappointment. We had a magician one night which was good but other than that it was just ameatour entertainment. The so call Zumba and aqua gym were basically the same - loud music in the pool with choreography by the entertainment team. The life music on the pool was playback music with life singers and the first day we went a kids movie was on next to it so you could hear the movie at the life music and the music at the outdoor cinema. The beach isn’t very nice, under the top 20cm of sand you find cement and building materials. The camping is in a great location and we explore some fantastic coves and beaches within few w km from the camping but if you want to explore this beautiful area, chose somewhere else for your accommodation…
Having read some of the reviews we were really worried about arriving at this site having to leave a fantastic site behind. We found that, yes some of the Spanish property were a little 'shanty' like, but that is how they live. Some were also really very smart. They are part and parcel of this site. So the good points first. Some amazing places to visit. Local bus stop right outside. Great biking routes, most found just by riding about. Brilliant walking routes up into the hills. Beaches are beautiful, especially along the Med side. If you play padel tennis, then Mar De Cristal is brilliant for that, all very welcoming from people who play. All staff we found to be friendly and helpful in the office and the security men. Internet was fantastic. For summer travelling folks: they are on with a new outdoor family pool. Very large, so improvements are being made. The showers were hot and clean. All cleaned frequently. The shop on site is very large and has a good range of products. We found the site to be quiet and although near the main road, that did not bother us. Free 'hard based' tennis courts. Practice courts. and other sport areas. Now for where we felt the site let us down. The shower blocks. Yes they are dated, both toilet and shower cubical are small. It is possible in the shower cubical to dry and come out with some clothes on to finish off. The shower heads need to be replaced by the management and that would be a start to make them look more appealing....just to see some smart chrome heads would be great. Once you get your head around this fact, they are great. The restaurant, we only ate there once and found the staff not over friendly, could have been a bad night for them, but we didn't return, even with other people saying how good it was. We liked Bocana in Capo De Polas to eat at. Although the sports area is good, sadly to try and play table tennis is not so good. It is on sand, the tables are not the correct size and are made of concrete. As we enjoy playing t.tennis every night when away, we played the once and it was was so disappointing we didn't play anymore. The site is dusty, but just how it is. Some of the 'roads' off it are narrow for turning, so you have to plan carefully which way in and out you need to go for turning. We have stayed for 30 nights during February and March and we would return. Hopefully the management might even have read this and make the few changes that I have suggested....fingers crossed. If you come to stay either winter or summer..... enjoy.…
Place was smaller than expected and there was a waste water odour all the time. Noise from military airport early in the morning and from working men on the place during stay. I will never come back again ….
The first impression of Camping la manga is of a large scruffy shanty town. We were allocated a pitch which after struggling to get to with a 7.7 metre long motorhome with a car trailer was far too small and dingy with overgrown hedges. We them spent the next hour trying to get down any of the lanes to get back to reception. After complaining at reception about the small lanes, and that I couldn't turn I was asked "why not". I was eventually given a larger plot on the main road that I was happier with. The showers and toilets are dated but are cleaned regularly On Sunday I found a used condom on my pitch which I immediately removed and disposal of. I reported this to reception and security was sent. I was told by them to contact management on Monday, which I did, only to be told by reception that I had to report the incident to the Civil Guard. To conclude, rude and indifferent recepton staff, scruffy shanty town and as I have found unsafe for children and dogs if used condoms are left arround. When I leave this site I will never return. I will be informing the CCC of my experience with this site.…
My partner and I stayed at La Manga in our motorhome for 7 nights late October 2021. We can describe our stay as the good the bad and the ugly. THE GOOD: At the south west end of the site there are large level pitches each with electricity water and drainage. There is a very good open air swimming pool and a good smaller that can be covered with an attractive surround. The Mirador bar/restaurant at the beach end of the site provides reasonably priced good food with very pleasant and efficient staff. There is a well stocked site shop open every day. The toilet and shower blocks are very small and dated but are kept spotlessly clean. THE BAD: Without a car there is nowhere of interest to walk to. The nearby Playa Honda is just a collection of dated apartments and deserted at the time of our visit. The photos of the site suggest a clean beach suitable for swimming. This is far from the case with the water so polluted from fertilizer and slurry run off from farms that fish have died and swimming in it is a definite no no. There is an unpleasant odour coming from the water. The whole surrounding area is generally scruffy and run down. THE UGLY: Approximately one third of the site is a third world shanty town with some of the camping pitches set amongst the shacks. The access roads to get to these are very narrow between the shacks with sharp corners that often make turning impossible. We were initially put on a pitch between the walls of a shack and a toilet block. After 2 nights we moved to one of the large pitches at the south end of the site. The shacks are ugly, awful and a positive fire hazard - in fact several had burned down shortly before our visit. Quite simply a bulldozer is the only way to sort this lot out. There is no need to pre book a pitch here as there were literally hundreds empty at the time of our visit. There were still quite a few British there with annual pitches for a cheap winter but the 90 day EU stay restriction is now making this much less attractive. We had booked and stayed for seven nights. WE WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE BACK.…
Ok, first off, pretty much ignore the VERY cleverly shot pics on the Capfun website. They make it look like a little Alton Towers style aqua park style place which couldn´t be further from the truth. The cabin that we were in was spotlessly clean, everything was new and worked well and we couldn´t fault that part of it all. It was small but that´s to be expected for what is essentially a static caravan but that was all great. Decent sized covered terrace with a table for 6 and all good in that respect. But, then you look at what is outside. It looks like CapFun bought an area and did it up but it´s surrounded by what looks like a trailer park. We´re easy going but it´s clearly geared towards a market sector that isnt very demanding. To be honest, had we not researched it prior to going we´d have driven on and then immediately off again. I´ve read reviews saying that half of the site is a "shanty town" and although that´s a little harsh, I can´t really argue. It felt safe enough. There were two couples in our party with two 4 year old lads who liked it but they´re 4 years old and a swimming pool is a swimming pool. Decent prices in the restaurants with really friendly staff and a shout out should go to the chefs and kitchen staff, the fastest service anywhere I´ve ever been - flawless. The waiting staff were lovely but a bit dozy. I have to say though that the security staff are appalling, absolutely horrible people. Flies everywhere which did spoil it but that´s not their fault of course, it is what it is, just loads of flies, I mean LOADS. We wont go back, we had a nice time but that was down to the company that we were with being honest. Not to be repeated sadly…
We have a Parcella on Camping Caravaning La Manga, I accept that it isn't the tidiest site to look at upon arrival, but this is due to the Spanish lifestyle and the fact they don't love the sun like us, they try and keep out of it, hence their 'Siesta's', they cover their own properties with, tin, taurpaulin etc to protect themselves, if you look under this, there are alot of lovely properties. The site have also got an excellent reception team as wells as a maintenance team on site who are constantly going around tidying, painting and cleaning. The on site cleaners also do an amazing job of cleaning the toilet blocks and showers throughout the day and there is 24 hour on site security at the gate. The Mirador at the beach end of the site provide excellent food throughout the day as well as a variety of exercise classes, quizzes, karaoke and live music for all nationalities on site to enjoy together. We love it all.…
This site has all the ingredients to be a great site. However, there are soooo many units and pitches crammed into it which makes it feel very claustrophobic, there’s barely room to manoeuvre a car up down the rows they are so close together. There are a lot of permanent private units on the site in rows and rows with no space between them and some of these are in a terrible state of repair as can be seen in my photos. I was so flabbergasted that the site allows this level of deterioration that I took photos. The outdoor pool area was a mess and the water green and horrible, certainly not useable. The reception was fine and efficient until I drove all round the place to find my allocated pitch was occupied, so it was back to reception, but that was a minor issue. The site absolutely needs to demolish and remove the derelict looking units, they make Sangat look posh! The site had a general scruffy look to it, mainly caused by the overcrowding and lack of maintenance. Toilets were nice and clean though.…
