This hotel can be difficult to locate but it is certainly worth the trek. The hotel location is superb, the sunrise/sets are exceptional. The rooms were basic but comfortable. The food was great with very attentive and hospitable staff. If your looking for relaxation and a fabulous stay and don't mind travelling for it, this is the place to be

Have an incredible stay. The staff were super nice, the location is breath taking. We got very nice sports massages from Natalia. The spa experience was wonderful, you get the outdoor private area to yourself for one hour. The sauna is really nice, the jacuzzi isn't the best, the jets are not very strong, but still nice to chill outdoors...

We stayed as a family of 5 for 3 days before heading to the coast and what a relaxing time we have had. The rooms, pool area, food and staff have all been fantastic. This is a 3* hotel but aspires to be much more with its standards, the management are to be applauded. Nothing is too much trouble, the...

My girlfriend and I stopped here after a walk in the mountains in a hot day. Lovely hotel, great staff and a beautiful mountain top garden and pool to cool off in. Food looked good to and apparently they have a suite including a glass tower and jacuzzi... One for the wish list!

Just stayed at this hotel for a friends wedding. Incredible views from its mountain top position. The room was well equipped and very comfortable. The food was fantastic and good value for money. All the staff made our stay even more special. If you want to escape from it all then this is for you.

An old hotel with quaint rooms, this is situated up a steep hill overlooking the village of Tolox. There's nothing close by. The views are good and expansive. The room was adequate with dated but comfortable furnishings. By far the highlight here is the food. Service and cuisine were both top-notch; probably the best meals I had on my two-week...

Amazing place that you wouldn't know existed but driving through Tolox and going up a typical Andalusian mountain road which to a Uk driver can feel quite hairy ... The result at the end is well worth it. Exceptional views and so peaceful. The decor and ambiance of the hotel is beautiful.. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful pool and...

A lovely two day weekend break in a hotel with breathtaking views. 3.5kms above the spa town of Tolox this hotel can be seen from the approach road from Málaga. Walkers will love this location which has well mapped walks, graded according to difficulty taking one through the Sierra de las Nieves. On Friday afternoon we walked a couple of...

Stayed here for one night while walking part of the GR243 "from Monda to Ronda". Not for the first time, I was fooled by the Booking.com map and believed - very incorrectly - that the hotel was in the centre of the village. I arrived in Tolox after 5.5 h of walking in the November heat (it's true!) from near...

Room ok. Drive is a nightmare in the dark as last few miles of road is very narrow. Only us and one other room occupied. Guy on duty was very officious. I went to my car at 11pm to get something and all the lights in the corridors and foyer switched off and I had to navigate by iPhone torch...

Dear Matt Thank you for taking the time to write your comments about Hotel Cerro de Hijar on tripadvisor. We are on a paved road 2,5km up from Tolox into the Natural Park, the road is actually the limit of the Natural Park Sierra de las Nieves and therefore it can´t be bigger than it is, but even buses have...
