Just came home from Longevity Health and wellness in Alvor, Algarve. I feel so relaxed and fit. The room was specious with a balcony which offered a view over Alvor to the ocean. The food and drinks were delicious and healthy. I had wonderful treatments in the clean Spa, where there is also a beautiful space with sauna, hammam etc. Everyday very nice yoga, mindfulness and stretching classes. A big compliment for the fantastically nice staff!!!
This hotel was such a great find. Loved the wellness element to our stay and enjoyed the pilates and yoga classes as well as the healthy breakfasts. Alvor centre and the beach are easily walkable but taxis are readily available and not expensive. The view from the room and the rooftop pool were amazing. The glass bathroom is not ideal but you can work around it - don't let that put you off staying here. The staff were all friendly and helpful with booking taxis, classes, etc.
, after a 10 day stay I left feeling quite disappointed and dissatisfied and wouldn’t return. The hotel really is beautiful, well finished, and has the best bed I’ve ever slept in abroad, great views and the gym facilities are excellent All the yoga and relaxation classes are brilliant too, I really enjoyed these and the walk to to the town with the American instructor and the Portuguese lady was also amazing. I would give this 5* on its own. The spa is also good, although it’s got issues. The hamam is lovely but gets far too warm, the salt infusion room is great but the beds are too hot, pools are great, sauna is great, relaxation room was “closed” but clearly just not being used anymore. Outdoor space wasn’t being used and would benifit from some beds out there. Massage was unlike any I have had before but was also excellent, can’t fault the staff really, although a bit overpriced. Bedrooms are lovely, although the glass bathroom is a bit wierd, I hope you like seeing your partner sitting on the toilet as it’s impossible not to, there’s a blind on one side but not the main window. Great bed, great shower. All the common areas are nicely done and very clean. The restaurant area on the roof is nice and has some nice outside seats The food at breakfast is pretty limited but what is on offer is good and healthy. Sadly, this is where the good stuff stops and I became disappointed. On the ground floor there is a restaurant and a tea lounge, both are closed and not used, this is a real shame as the tea lounge especially is a lovely looking space and would be a nice place to relax. The food on offer in the roof top restaurant is limited at dinner, we ate there the first night .and the food was ok, but not worth the money, every other day we went into the town, where the food is better (so many good places for Fish) Breakfast the staff are painfully slow and you’ll only get 2 choices for food off the menu, usually scrambled eggs or fried eggs, very disappointing for a 5* place. The pool area is also well below what it should be, there is 8 sun beds, sometimes 12, for the whole hotel, and beware there is NO umbrellas, so no shade at all, and you’ll be lucky to get s bed, people are up at the crack of dawn to reserve them with their towels, which the staff don’t remove, and then go off about their day so You’ll be lucky to get a bed, we ended up going to the beach everyday (where you’ll have to pay for a sun bed), the staff also hardly ever clear the area up, so there’s old cups sitting around for hours attracting flies There are a few nice sofas under the veranda but still not enough. There’s a large terrace area on the ground floor which I assume would be used for the restaurant but now it’s just not used, again , this space would be good for some beds or cabanas and a above ground pool instead of just a vast area of nothing, the whole ground floor just feels a bit like the place is on the verge of closing down. In the room you don’t get a bottle of water each day which is well below the standard I expect There is no shuttle bus to the town, meaning you either have to walk, or get a taxi which becomes a bit tedious since the food in the hotel is poor. Even the cheapest hotels in Benidorm can cater to this. There is no bar area downstairs and the top one shuts at 10pm, you can’t even order a g&t only a cocktail version which is €10! It’s a real shame, hopefully the Management will take on some of these ideas and make this hotel as good as it could be, they aren’t high cost, personally to use as a base it’s a good hotel, but not really a luxury resort. I wouldn’t stay again. Shame.…
Beautiful hotel with excellent wellness facilities. Next level tranquillity and relaxation is guaranteed. Breakfast is excellent. Spa facilities are excellent. The rooftop pool (more a large plunge pool than a swimming pool) has the most AMAZING views. Beautiful gardens. A short walk into town where there are fabulous bars and restaurants. Down sides: our booking guaranteed sea or mountain views, this was not the case. Bathrooms are not private and are glass - fine if you know that in advance. We queried and could not get an alternative - I could go further about this issue, e.g. Health & Safety, etc. Just be warned. The most disappointing and heart-breaking issue for us was that we booked the hotel in Alvor to revisit the town we had honeymooned in 20 years ago. My husband had emailed the hotel in advance to explain the significance. He was assured the matter would be addressed (emails all kept). As it turned out, NOTHING. Not even a note to say 'Happy Anniversary'. He was not offered any options, etc. that he could purchase. This was unpleasant. If you have a special event to celebrate, go elsewhere! When I complained about several issues (including ignoring the anniversary), it took 3 emails to the manager before he replied. The first email was sent while he was sat in reception, working. It took 3 days to get a response. They EVENTUALLY made a gesture but it was poor - too little too late. Poor customer service from reception staff - unhappy and complained about guests! …
I don’t even know where to start with this hotel. It was absolutely amazing. By far the best hotel we have ever stayed in. It was complete luxury from the first moment we arrived. The hotel looks gorgeous, and it is really peaceful and serene. The little touches are lovely, from the fresh fruit to the daily cold tea drinks and lots of lovely plants. The roof top infinity pool was something else. Absolutely beautiful. The spa was gorgeous too. Lovely sauna, steam room, heated pool, plunge pool, salt room, and nice hot beds. Everything was so well done, very well maintained and felt very luxurious. The hotel room was spacious with a lovely balcony to sit and enjoy the view. The bed was massive and super comfortable and the sheets and towels all smelt really fresh and clean. The room was spotless. Daily turndown service was a treat too and we always came back to a lovely tidy and relaxing room. The breakfast was healthy and delicious. There was yogurt with fresh and dried fruit pastries, bread with jams and peanut butter, vegetables, meats and fish, boiled eggs, and there three daily cooked specials. They had gluten free rolls which came out in a special packet and were warm and very nice. We did a few of the well-being classes, and really enjoyed the walk to the Alvor market on the Sunday morning. We were helpfully shown around Alvor and given some great restaurant recommendations. Barbara’s yoga classes were fantastic. Challenging but beginner friendly too. Loved her approach to yoga and how much fun she had with us. She is a real credit to the hotel. Can honestly say the staff really made this hotel. They consistently went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed and were happy and comfortable. They were super friendly and engaging. I would give this hotel ten stars if I could. Loved everything about it and am already desperate to go back. Wonderful wonderful hotel.…
What an exceptional stay from start to finish. Truly one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The rooms are lovely bright and spacious and the balcony had a lovely sea view. The hotel is sparklingly clean and the staff are all exceptional. The daily classes are superb, Diogos pilates classes are brilliant, and Barbara’s ‘tortura’ stretching classes are fantastic - obrigada both of you! The classes are outside overlooking the lovely garden and there is also a airconditioned gym. The breakfast is one of the best that we have had, organic locally produced food with an exquisite twist. Each day there are fruit bowls, yoghurts meats, cheeses and pastries, different breads etc but you also get the choice or 2-3 hot dishes such as scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, porridge etc. The infinity pool has wonderful views of alvor and as well as loungers there are plenty of bean bags and seating areas. The hotel is also connected to a hospital and provides excellent treatments such as osteopathy, and the care that is taken is second to none. The spa is wonderful and perfect after one of Diogo, or Barbara’s classes. This hotel is truly exceptional, I cannot say enough about this wonderful place only that we cannot wait to return. A huge thank you to everyone at Longevity…
Excellent hotel, the service was exceptional! Nothing was a problem, hotel organised everything for us . So well looked after . Excellent hotel to relax and to enjoy. will definitely bring returning ! Thankyou to the whole team at the longevity hotel . You were great !
What can I say, the entire stay was like living in a stock image gallery. Everything was perfect so it's impossible not to relax and feel great. I hada beautiful full body massage in the spa as well which was fantastic. The rooftop pool is so relaxing and the staff were all so pleasant and helpful. Would absolutely return.
I liked the hotel. It was beautiful, clean with a nice view. Breakfast on the rooftop, pool, spa, gym, Pilates and crystal healing. The unfortunate part is check out. There’s people throughout the lobby yet the cabs services that they offer are too busy to pick up people. Granted I get there was an event here but one of the perks of staying at a hotel is access to cabs. Any time I needed one they weren’t able to help. I was told to call an Uber and obviously that would be a thought to try another taxi service which I did before asking. It’s too far from the inner parts of Portimao if there’s no cabs. So I missed my excursion because I couldn’t get a cab all the way out in Alvor within 50 minutes. It makes no sense to leave your stuff behind to come back when there’s no cab service to get you back to the hotel.…
The staff are the ultimate professionals, the hotel is pristine, the food is incredible, the pool is an instagrammer’s dream, the spa is included in the price and is beautiful, the beach nearby is gorgeous, the room was big and had everything we needed, and the facilities are fantastic. Would love to come back here, an absolute pleasure to stay in.
