I can fully recommend this Masseria to everyone. Cozy ambiance and very friendly staff. Great and local breakfast included. Pool area is fantastic and quiet. Diner is an absolute highlight. Loved this!
We booked for 9 nights, with great expectations but left early after only 4, very disappointed. We spent ages researching masseria in the Puglia region within a short drive of Brindisi airport. It seemed to fit the bill perfectly, a treat for our honeymoon. At the time of booking, which we did direct rather than through a travel agent, I was always slightly alarmed that they badgered me for a 30% deposit. Anyway, we arrived after a 12+ hour journey, quite drained and exhausted. I've visited very high end hotels and I've stayed at humble B&B's and I can't remember one where on arrival there is nothing, nada, rien de tout in terms of a snack or bottle of water or tea making facilities, something to say "hello" and welcome. Well folks, this was the first one. I expect for honeymoon couples, 99.9% of hosts might even do something extra... Unbelievable meanness. And this is 140 euros a night for the apartment. So, I mentioned the slight doubt I had about being badgered for the 30% deposit. Once there one is surrounded by brick a brick they are trying to upsell, and every morning they want you to book a table for lunch or dinner. That maybe because they are gauging numbers for catering but it didn't feel that way. Then came the nighttime. Perhaps if you live in a city with noise all around you, the barking dogs would not bother you. For us coming from a still, peaceful location on the English coast, having to put up with barking dogs for hours on end during the night was unbearable and by the 4th night we gave up and checked out. So readers, just bear in mind what I have said. Its such a shame, the attitude of the general staff going about their general business is lovely and the buildings are superb. The breakfast food was of an excellent quality.…
Lovely Masseria set on an olive farm, about 8km from Ostuni. Friendly professional staff and good choice for breakfast. We dined in the restaurant on our first evening and had a lovely meal. The swimming pool was really nice with plenty of loungers. The bedroom was a bit dated but fine for a short stay.
Arrived for a weeks holiday after flying to Bari and hiring a car which you will need as the Masseria is situated in 35 Acres of Olive Groves. The staff were so friendly and the restaurant food locally grown and organic was delicious. Accommodation was small but delightful we could not fault this place and would definately recommend it for a relaxing holiday. It is well placed for visiting Ostuni Alberrello and Lecce.
Situated 9 kms from Ostuni. 20 euro cab ride.We spent 4 nights at Masseria Valente. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We had a two room apartment with separate bathroom. Plenty of space. Very steep stairs to get to the room. Not suitable for anyone who cannot climb stair easily. We had a nice balcony with a view and comfortable chairs. The internet worked well. The rooms were clean. The TV had no English channels. The meals were good . The breakfast was very good. The shortcomings were, The bathroom is ridiculously small. The shower is so small you hit the tap when cleaning yourself. There is a fridge in the room but it has nothing in it. There was no facility to make tea or coffee. There were cats everywhere. Very unhealthy to have them around the dining area. On more than one occasion we saw them on tables. They were around the pool and even drank from it. I know it is a farm but they need to keep the cats away from eating areas. I was surprised at the cost of our food. More expensive than I thought it would be but still very fresh and good to eat. I would recommend but tell my friends what to expect.…
