Eibl-Brunner is a wonderful place to stay. The Hotel is a beautiful example of authenticity meeting modernity. We stayed in the contemporary designed part of the hotel. The rooms were beautifully designed and very comfortable. The swimming pool & spa area was a nice experience! The staff of the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was simply delicious! If you want to explore the Bayerische wald do not look further; this is your place.
Due to Covid-19, our holiday to Cyprus was cancelled. So, we've searched for an alternative nearby and with similar standards. This hotel did not fail. On the contrary, it met all our expectations. 1. Room: We've booked via Expedia room type Josefi, 35m², walk-in shower, separate WC, more than enough space to store all your stuff, safe, flat-screen TV with a variety of German, Austrian channels to choose from, minibar, balcony. Clean and well maintained daily. A nice bed too! 2. Restaurant/bar We had booked full pension, which means that you have breakfast, afternoon snacks and dinner included in your stay. Also, they have taken necessary measures as requested in Covid-19 times. Upon check-in, we've received info as to how and when we were expected to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. They've divided all of them into two shifts in order to have no everyone into the restaurant at one time. We've also had our table (table 28) for the whole stay, which made it easy for everyone to maintain an overall overview on the guests at the hotel. Masks are obliged upon entering the hotel, and once sitting at your table, you can take it off. Breakfast buffet: every morning with a variety of juices, cheese, meat, vegetables, fresh fruit, different kinds of bread, eggs (different styles, prepared according to your wishes), bacon, cornflakes, etc. Coffee served at your table or you can use the coffee machine at the buffet for a different style of coffee. Tea anyone? A large variety of herbal teas, etc, pick one also at the buffet. Lunch: always a salad buffet, bread, soup and one warm meal prepared. Take it or leave it, we've loved the soup at any time. For those with a sweet tooth, they will not be disappointed. Dinner: at breakfast, you find at your table the 'morning paper' of the hotel which also mentions the menu for that evening. A 5-course meal where you pick your main course (meat, fish or vegetarian). And for those who have not had enough, there is always the possibility to have some cheese after dessert. The menu at dinner always suggests an apéro, a white or red wine and a digestif. Take it or leave it, ask for the wine menu, and pick one your self. There is just one thing we've missed a bit: main course could have a bit more seasoning. But overall, every course was nicely presented on the plate and of a high standard. The bar is open as of noon and until late in the evening. They serve in the main bar, at the reception, garden/pool outside, on the terrace outside the restaurant. Big variety of drinks and we suggest you keep it local and let the waiters inspire you. 3. Amenities: this is a Wellness hotel, so they have a Spa and a lot of the guests are there for Spa treatments. Book one of these treatments. I'm sure you will not be disappointed. The pool from the Spa allows you to swim/go to the outdoor heated pool in the garden. That garden has more than enough relaxing space to sunbath or to enjoy some quiet time outside. And they serve drinks if requested at your relaxing spot. No need to reserve a chair (who does that?), there is more than enough room. And for those who like a sauna, book it! You can also rent e-bikes at the reception for a tour. 4. Staff: no remarks! Kind, professional and helpful. The hotel is managed and owned by a family and they all take part in the daily operations of this place. 5. Parking: as most guests arrive by car, there is more than enough parking space available. 6. Access for disabled persons: no worries. The entrance of the hotel is easily accessible and there are two elevators. All spaces are easily accessible (garden, terrace, bar, restaurant, Spa). They say that it is your second home, well, they are right! We've loved our one week stay, we've visited the region a the Bavarian Forest, had walking trips (go and have you walking map at the tourist info nearby at the Glass museum of Frauenau), quiet moments in the garden, lots of good wine, cocktails and beer at the terrace and the restaurant, excellent food. Overall, 10/10. Thank you family Eibl-Brunner! We'll be back and, if possible, for a winter stay ;-)…
We had an overall nice time, nice hotel, friendly staff, delicious food. No complaints whatsoever. Would book minimum 3 night to enjoy all they have to offer. What we enjoyed the most was the food at the restaurant and the spa.
The Hotel offers an overall satisfying experience for the entire family (3 generations). The food and the facilities are very good, the location is great for hiking trips and we enjoyed the vicinity of the well- maintained golf course. The quality of the staff is outstanding. We will be back!
Together with two fellow hikers, we spent a week in Eibl-Brunner to explore (for us for the first time) the hiking trails of the Bavarian Forest. Reception at arrival was very friendly, informative and fast. The food at the restaurant was excellent with a daily choice of three options, one of which was vegetarian. Service was very fast, efficient and responsive. Breakfast buffet offered also a rich choice of many otpions. The hotel has been refurbished recently offering quiet and spacious rooms. Rooms are very clean and room service very fast. Almost every day, daily room service was finisched during breakfast. A gorgeous combined indoor and outdoor swimming pool is part of the infrastructure. After our daily hiking, we enjoyed it very much. I do highly recommend this hotel.
