Just finished a ten day trip to France with our last night in La Guillotiere. We did a lot of driving during the ten day trip and this was the most peaceful location you could ask for. Just outside the village of Esvres and set in a beautifully wooded location, La Guillotiere is a perfect stop for a few days. The hosts, Anne and Sean, made our visit a delight. Our room, The Oscar Wilde, was really nice with windows on three walls and views over the whole countryside. Really nice bed (after several very hard mattresses) meant a sound sleep and when we woke the only sounds were of the birds singing. A gorgeous breakfast of fresh juice, croissants, breads, yoghurts etc finished a perfect stay.

My husband and I cannot say enough about La Guillotiere and our lovely hosts, an Irish couple named Anne and Sean. From the moment we turned into their long, tree-lined lane, we knew this would be a peaceful, relaxing haven and the perfect end to our ten-day trip to France. La Guillotiere is a charming stone house with four spacious en suite bedrooms. Ours was the W.B. Yeates room--large and airy with a comfortable bed and enormous bathroom. The home is immaculately kept, yet comfortable, warm, and friendly---not at all stuffy or pretentious! Breakfast was taken in the dining room each morning. As the B&B was full each night, we mingled with six other guests over a lavish spread of croissants, pain chocolat, homemade scones with lemon curd, fresh fruit and juice, personal

How could we return to France from the other side of the world ( New Zealand ) without returning here. My husband and I were lucky enough to stumble upon Anne and Sean's gorgeous home, during our first trip to France in 2007. When we decided to return in July this year with our two daughters, how could we come all this way, with out returning to La Guillotiere. The bedrooms are absolutely superb and Anne's breakfasts are to die for - Sean is pretty good at the dishes too !!!!!. Hopefully we will return one day again soon - we could not visit France without returning here.

We stayed here for 1 night in early May at the end of an anniversary trip to the region. The room was lovely, a nice size, comfy bed, and impeccably clean. The 4 rooms are named after authors (ours was Oscar Wilde). The hostess Anne was very welcoming and helpful. It even has an outdoor swimming pool and I was the first guest of the year to venture in, although it was a little cold! Overall highly recommended and extremely good value for money.

This Chambre d'Hote ia run by Anne and Sean Dignam who are a most charming and friendly couple. Their lovely home, which was built at different times in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries is set in a tranquil rural area close to many beautiful historic towns and chateaux in the Loire valley. The bedrooms and drawing room available to their guests are beautifully furnished with lovely personal touches and filled with fresh flowers. Breakfast is wonderful and without doubt had the greatest selection of sweet and savoury breads that we had in 3 weeks of travelling in France. Anne and Sean were very generous with their time and advice on where to go and what to see in their area - particularly the hot chocolate in Salon de The in Amboise! We have no hesitation in recommending La

We arrived at La Guillotiere at approximately 5pm after driving 3 hours from Paris to be welcomed by Anne and Sean who very kindly offered us a glass of champagne to help us cool off. When we were finally relaxed enough to contamplate brining our luggage in we were shown to a beautifully decorated room overlooking the wonderful gardens. It was so peaceful, it was exactly what we needed. Anne was very knowledgeable about the area and no request was too big. We were made feel like part of the family and had a beautiful dinner cooked there (but I think this is only done in summer). The breakfast was delicious too. The area itself is lovely; castles, vineyards etc and the their dog Bailey kept us active by wanting to play ball all the time, even dropping it in the pool for us to
