This hotel is located between the railway station and old town. We chose it as we were planning to visit the salt mine. We were on the top floor in a spacious room with bath. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful providing maps and a bus timetable. The only disadvantage was that if the...

Mistakenly arrived in Hallein one night and spotted this hotel near the hauptbahnof. The older lady kindly gave me a small single bed room. The room was super small but I was in for only one night and that too without any luggage so it didn't bother me. Shower was good, heating, bed linen everything was okay except the bed...

We did not have reservations, but they had rooms available. One of our rooms was on the top floor and the elevator does not go all the way up, so if stairs are a problem ask for a room on a lower floor. The rooms were small, but we did not spend much time in our rooms. A short walk...

The Hafnerwirt is a great value. The room was neat and clean as was the entire hotel, but small yet serviced us very well. The shower was tiny but worked. The breakfast buffet was included in the price of the room and very adequate. We ate on their patio outside for our evening meal and enjoyed Austrian style Mexican food...

We were on a motorcycle trip through the Alps and wanted a place outside of Berchtesgaten and Salzburg. This was a convenient, affordable stop. It is close to the town of Hallein (just walk 2 blocks) if you want to be in an old town with cobblestone streets, several gelato shops and a Celtic museum. There is a train/bus station...

Traditional Austrian hotel conveniently situated in the very centre of Hallein, just a few 100 metres from the main railway station and with free parking. Hallein is situated close to the Tauern Autobahn. The atmosphere was great. the breakfast was wonderful offering a considerable choice. The room we stayed in was slightly tired but for one night was more than...

My husband & I stayed in this hotel for a few days. We love this hotel. It brings back great memories. There is always a very nice atmosphere, great people and excellent breakfast buffet. The only thing lately that isn’t great is that the room decor was not the prettiest. Although the room was clean it was a bit worn...

My husband, daughter and her two little ones took two rooms - the keys were waiting for us at the front desk since we arrived late. Everything was perfectly enjoyable for our two night stay. We did dine in the Mexican Restaurant for ease because we had little ones with us, and the food was good. Not Austrian or German...

We stayed for 5 nights in Hallein whilst on a workshop nearby. The staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful. Our room in the eaves was clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable and we had a spa bath which was an unexpected bonus!! The breakfast croissants were to die for. We had a 5 minute walk across the...
