This old public house off the beaten track has been converted to B&B by the owners, Colin and Linda. When we turned up, we were welcomed with a cuppa and a slice of excellent date cake (and a choice of biscuit). Nothing is too much trouble for Linda and Colin: the first night, the heating wasn't working, due a timer...

Myself and my 3 sisters visit shrewsbury at least twice a year and have stayed at several other larger accommodations and my opinion the barley mow outshine all others. The rooms are clean and easily accommodated 4 adults, the host were friendly and had great knowledge on places to visit, grounds is beautiful and breakfast was wonderful 5*.

I booked to stay here for 2 nights over a weekend with my parents, aunty and boyfriend, to attend a family wedding nearby. After eating at a pub locally we arrived to a warm welcome from Linda who showed us to our rooms. We were also given a list of breakfast options to select ready for the following morning and...

If you are looking for a 5* modern state of the art hotel with all mod cons then this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for cosy, home from home accommodation with a comfortable bed, quality bed linen, delicious breakfast and 2 lovely hosts, then look no further. On arrival we were greeted by Colin...

Stayed here for 2 nights this weekend and it was absolutely fantastic. A lovely setting in the country yet still close enough to only be a shirt drive from many local towns ! The owners Linda & Colin were superb hosts who prepare an awesome full English breakfast, complete with home made toast, butter & jams....along with a visit from...

I have to disagree with the previous review and heartily agree with all those which came before it. We also arrived a little earlier than advertised but this was not a problem for the lovely owners. We had an upstairs room with our own landing and en-suite. The room was large and very clean and bed linen was of very...

We had a three day weekend at The Barley Mow House in the library room. We had a semi warm welcome but think this may be because we arrived 20 mins early but was soon settled with a cuppa and jaffa cake biscuit. The TV did not work due to aerial problems,, intermittent internet connection at best, the library bedroom...

What a wonderful place! Both Linda and Colin were just the perfect hosts. (Along with 'our William'). Beautiful, tranquil setting in a picturesque village. From feeding the horses to swinging on the garden swing, enjoying studying the books in the library room to tucking in to a fabulous breakfast. Thank you both so much for a fabulous stay, we will...

Stayed in this delightful bed and breakfast for two nights while attending a friends wedding at the local Rowton Castle. From the moment we arrived Colin and Linda were delightful hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them at all. They made us feel very welcome indeed and my husband and I throughly enjoyed our chats with Colin and...
