I had one of the best vacation in Langkawi staying in this luxurious hotel. Beautiful landscape and large pool with jacuzzi. I enjoyed every moment of my stay here. The grand merchant room is spacious with 2 balconies and one facing the marina. Not forgetting the hotel staff are well trained, polite and helpful. Food is great here. Ordered king prawn in lemak sauce and it was served hot and with steamed rice that is really hot from the pot. Breakfast comes in part buffet and a la carte for certain items. Good varieties and the black coffee is really nice here. Had a 90 minutes balinese massage at the spa. Was given a treatment room with amazing view of the marina. The sand is white and fine on the private beach. Take an evening walk on the beach and wait for the golden sunset here. A different feel in the morning when strolling on the beach to feel the cool morning breeze. I must say i made the right choice to stay in The Danna. Happy with my vacation and stay here. Hope they maintain the standard and service quality.

The Danna is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in (and I’ve stayed in a lot of luxury hotels) – I can’t recommend it highly enough. First, they will help you organise your holiday to Langkawi given the current complicated Langkawi travel bubble / covid admin. It’s fantastic that they’ll take this off your plate when many other hotels won’t. The Danna is rather unique in some ways in that it can both provide a wide range of luxury, depending on budget, including for those on a more modest budget. (From separate villas with private pools, enormous suites, to much more affordable bedrooms which are still absolutely stunning and the wider hotel facilities (pool, beach etc..) are still absolutely gorgeous and luxurious). And it is also a wonderful place for families / kids (a fabulous kids club) but also a very romantic place for couples. I’m not sure how the Danna manages it all, but it does! The luxury even extends to the breakfasts – absolutely delicious food and this is the only place I’ve ever stayed where there is even free flow real champagne for breakfast! The private library with beautiful sea view and billiards room is not bad too! The location is also fabulous – waterfalls and great local restaurants nearby. The best part of all though is the service. It is impeccable. I’m a harsh critic usually but I was blown away by the professionalism of the waiters, the friendliness and genuinely helpfulness of the reception and kids’ club staff and all the other staff were super kind and helpful too. Above all I must mention Salim, one of the management, who couldn’t have looked after us better. He offered such a personal touch to our experience at the Danna and even opened one of the closed restaurants for us because it suited our kids better, and offered us free drinks on NYE! The Danna is a beautiful hotel and wonderful caring staff and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

My wife and I checked out after a three-day stay at The Danna, and we had the best experience. We were picked up at the airport, given two much-needed bottles of water, and nestled into a nice air-conditioned car while being taught some fascinating facts about the island along the trip. The trip from the airport takes no more than 20 minutes. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted kindly by a number of staff members and offered a welcome drink, a cool towel, and a complementary neck and shoulder massage. We reserved the Viceroy Seaview Room, which was really big. Great service and hospitality, pleasant and well-trained employees, magnificently big and tastefully decorated rooms and bathrooms with gigantic bathtubs facing the spectacular view of the gorgeous sea, incredible amenities with a massive incredible swimming pool and delicious breakfast buffet spread. There are two happy hours available! From 5 to 7 p.m. in the pool, and from 7 to 10 p.m. on the verandah. You don't have to go anywhere if you stay here. This place has nothing to dislike about it. If I had to pick one drawback, it would be that there are no other restaurants within walking distance, although this is true of many fine hotels in Langkawi. Also, the hotel store should sell sun creams and amenities so you don't have to trek all the way to town. Overall, a private expensive and exclusive hotel, and I felt like I was treated like royalty during my 3D2N visit. One of the most enjoyable hotel visits I've ever had!

We booked our stay at The Danna Langkawi hotel, which is situated in an area called Pantai Lok, a 25-minute drive from the airport. Upon arrival we were greeted by a towering white colonial pillar style white building with concierge decked out in warm smiles and traditional safari-esque attire with pith helmets. The Reception area was spacious and simply but luxuriously decorated. We were led to a receiving room with beautiful comfortable chaise and lounge couches. Our thirsts quenched by the delicious refreshing signature welcome drinks and were even given complimentary neck and shoulder massages while we waited. All signs of great customer centric service in my opinion. Check in was completed in under ten minutes and we had someone accompany us to our room to explain the various features. We had booked the Mountain view room which had a semi view of the Hotel’s beach and majestic mountains. We were in Room 445. The room was not only picture perfect but spacious. The balcony was huge and had an equally huge couch for relaxation. The room The room is fitted with plenty light fitted closet space, soft cotton bathrobes and the softest slippers. The bathroom’s rain shower was one of my favorite features. One could literally shower for an hour with such perfect water pressure. It was also fully stocked up with organic soaps and lotions. The bath tub was especially exquisite with a gorgeous view to match. The room has a fully functional desk area. The room had a mini fridge and kettle. The mini fridge was empty though. Complimentary tea, coffee and water were replenished daily. There was also a daily turn down service which was great because of my kids who made a mess immediately after clean up. The bed was huge and so comfortable and cosy, the kind of room you could sit and hibernate in for days but hey no time for hibernation on holiday.   Amenities The hotel has a huge infinity pool that overlooks the Straits of Malacca. There is ample area for the kids to swim. There are also wooden gazebos littered around the pool and gardens to relax on. The beach is a stones throw away from the pool and plenty beach chairs mean you can lounge around all day ordering drinks and food to your hearts content while soaking in some sun, sea and sand. They have a spa, gym and a children’s play area. Given SOP’s one has to reserve a play slot a day in advance. We were disappointed we couldn’t go play on the spot but alas protocols must be observed. Dining. There is a restaurant next to the pool called the Terrace. They had the best frozen strawberry margaritas I have ever had. They have happy hours where drinks are at 50% between 5pm and 7pm which is great value. We ordered lunch here and I had ordered the beef burger and they unfortunately ran out of beef. The chicken burger I had was underwhelming. A friend told me their kiddies burgers and hot dogs are amazing so I ordered these through room service and they were delicious. I preferred their room service which was somehow so much better than dine in options and with room service, the chefs were so very accommodating to my daughters very picky diet. Breakfast was served at Planters, the huge dining restaurant. On offer were various delicious spreads of Western and Asian dishes. SOP’s were followed with guests required to wear gloves and masks when serving themselves.  Service. The service was impeccable, every single staff member was extremely helpful and efficient at getting us what we needed to make our stay comfortable. Although on the higher price end, this place is worth every single penny. One of my newly discovered happy places in Malaysia. This place is ideal for that getaway from the real world, if you want to hibernate or just recharge and enjoy the joy of doing nothing. We will definitely return. Keep up the excellent work everyone.
