A very quite and relaxing place to stay. It back up to a river where plenty of wild life can be seen along the river. There are 10 rooms that all share a common area that is immaculately kept. The common are is inside and most pleasant in any weather to do internet work or just relax with a drink and meet fellow travelers.
Rooms are spacious and well appointed. All room open onto a indoor area that is protected from sun and rain. The common are was perfect for reading or socializing. All areas were attractive and clean with most pleasant environment. The whole staff was very helpful and friendly. It is right on the main street with the feel of being slightly in the jungle. Toucans and humming birds were right outside the door. This is a place you can not go wrong with.
I currently live in Boquete, Panama, but on a tourist visa. That means that every 90 days, I need to exit Panama in order to be legal to drive. Since Panama now requires that tourists be out of the country for 72 hours before re-entry, I had to find a place to stay for 3 days. What I imagined was going to be a long, draining experience turned out to be one of the best that I have had in Central America in the 18 months that I have been here. Not only is the little town of Sabalito charming, but this quaint, family operated hotel is outstanding. Clean rooms, free WiFi, central location, a wonderful, light airy courtyard, attached restaurant. Everything about this little hotel was done right, and the price was more than reasonable ($24 per night for single occupancy). The family that owns and operates the Cabinas is as friendly and hospitable as can be. I highly recommend this great little hotel. I plan on returning there frequently.…
Cabinas La Riviera is a really nice, clean, safe and quiet place to stay. It is run by a lovely family, all of whom are friendly and pleasant. The food is very good.........MUST try their Cream of Chayote soup and also their fried chicken............delicious! Price is excellent for what you receive.........I have to go to Costa Rica every 6 months and this will always be my place of choice.
We have stayed here twice and liked it both times. The only drawback is the restaurant is not open for breakfast and there are not too many choices in Sabalito. The rooms are clean and room #8 is where we were both times. It has a bigger bath than the other rooms, making it more comfortable. The shower did have hot water from a suicide shower head. The trick is using only low pressure to get it to work.
