Santiago de los Caballeros let us off a little. However we went there mostly as a point of excursions to the Damajuga falls (very fun experience in a beautiful tropical nature) and to the La Aurora Cigar production in nearby Tamboril. Had a great tour there! The hotel manager is a very caring guy, speaks perfectly English. Don't expect a... More

I had an overnight stay in Santiago and chose this hotel to save some money. Since I was just in transit and leaving early morning to catch the bus to Santo Domingo, I thought it did not matter if the hotel was just basic. I arrived around 9pm and checked into the hotel, got a single room with AC for... More

We had a great experience here considering the price. It is close to all the sights in the colonial district, and the room was pretty good for a budget hotel! High ceilings and a good size with a big bathroom. The bed and pillows were not comfortable and the AC unit made a lot of noise, like a high pitched... More

I like this place, the people are wonderful. The rooms are small and simple and quaint. For the price, the air was good but there was a good bit of ruckus from outside of room Six. I've been there several times and have never had any issues.

This is a basic hotel, with the necessary services that a traveler expects, it's a very typical old house in the city. Not everyone speaks English but we had no bad experience. The price is pretty cheap and somewhat poor town.

I like this place! Always get a good nights rest. I've stayed in what passes for more upscale hotels in Santiago, paid more money, and found far greater negatives than what I found at the Colonial. There are 3 buildings all in a row. The prices I've paid go from about 600 pesos to 1200 pesos RD per night, plus... More

I'm a peace corps volunteer that has stayed in many cheap hotels throughout the country. This was by far my worst experience. The room was extremely dirty (used toilet paper in the shower for starters), the tv and wifi didn't work, and the staff was rude. I would NOT stay at this hotel again. Although this accommodation is very basic, it is good value for money, especially if you're looking to move out of Santiago quickly. Easy to get to and from, situated Downtown...close to the Monument, food and shops. We stayed there two, seep rate nights, and both rooms proved to be clean. Granted, we did stay in rooms with A/C, TV (which... More

Arrived in Santiago for our outbound plane to Orlando the next day and stayed in the Hotel Colonial Deluxe next to Hotel Colonial (same owners) in the old section of Santiago. For $35 USD we had a secure double smallish room with AC, cable, fridge, double bed, writing desk & chair and a large bath w/hot water. Breakfast included. No... More
