I was here for a week. I got to eat dinner here a few times. Lobster, shrimp, and local fish. All the meals were fantastic. They went out of their way to serve a tasty, fresh, and plentiful meal. Dinner also had veggies and a salad. Breakfast was also very good. Eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast, and coffee, at a small charge, were filling plates in the morning. Breakfast was served with a mix of local fruits. A great way to start a day of adventure.
The 3 tier pool deck is cute and one of a kind. I had the whole hotel to myself for a week. The staff was very friendly and ready to help in any way they could. Management was always ready to help and available.
The views were beautiful. On the north side of the island. They are located about 30-40 mins from the airport. It depends on your experience in driving on the left side of the road and the size of the car.

The best hotel in the north of the Island of Dominica, the meals are so delicious, the name of the chef is Joann, she cooks with love. Ebony, Lee, Justus and Alison will make you feel that Dominica is your second home. Try the north of Dominica is just simply beautiful and only 30 minutes from the airport. I really look forward to come back.

We stayed at the Atlantique view after finding the name in the Bradt guide. It seems to be a secret still, almost nobody there, our own private hotel, pool, restaurant etc. Its very close to the beaches of the north, especially Batibou bay which was the best one as far as I am concerned. Its also a short drive to many sights of the north, a good base for this end of the island. The staff are of course all new to the hotel as the hotel is only a year old. The restaurant staff have already got off to a good start and they where impressive as was the great food and bar crew. The staff we spoke to seem really keen to help and gain a good reputation for the hotel. The manager and the owner both asked us for our opinions. My only comments would not be complaints as It is a new venture and these things did not bother me but rather tips for the rooms. The room 702 was really really nice but needed a few small things to make it top class as its supposed to be. The towel holder had obviously fell off at sometime and needed replacing so while we where there there was actually not one place to hang towels, there is a safe but without batteries so that couldnt be used, in the bathroom there is no mirror, only in the main room, so it was not possible to shave, so I grew a beard instead. The cleaner was very nice and asked what we wanted but one day she just forgot to give us any towels at all after removing all the dirty ones, luckily we had the pool towels still although we could have gone to reception and asked. All in all a great new place that just needs to fine tune the room maintenace if they want the reputation that they are striving for, they seem to be already on the way in the other areas of service. I would definately go back.

Firstly, their customer service was terrible. The receptionist was not hospitable, and he did not give the impression that he was willing to assist. Quality Customer Service is the meeting and exceeding of the customer's needs, wants, and expectations. Therefore, a person in the tourism and hospitality industry should pride themselves in always giving quality customer service. The receptionist showed us our room which was really dusty and dirty, and then left without giving us the wifi password and a brief tutorial on how all the amnenities work in the room. Secondly, the room had various issues, which the receptionist failed to state when we arrived. The jacuzzi/hot tub was not working, there was a coffee maker with no coffee, the light in the room was not working, and the mini fridge was not working either. Check in is at 3 pm, we were told if we came in before the check in time, we had to pay an additional $30. To be very honest, I don't I feel that the additional $30 was necessary because the room was dusty and it smelled like it's not frequently used. In addition, we were not compensated for the inconveniences at all.

The only good experience that came from this staycation were the pool which is cleaned every morning, the food, and the amazing view. I believe Atlantique Resort has a lot of capabilities to be one of the best in Dominica but it needs a lot of improvement. The location is beautiful and the atmosphere is "safe in nature".

My recommendations would be:
(I) Train the employees, especially the receptionist in hospitality. They are the faces and voices we first see and interact with the most. When a customer has called the phone they must end the phone call with "is there anything else I can do to assist you?". Not "yeah, no problem". And try to familiarize yourself with the customers name so you can address them by such for eg. Mr/Ms. James rather than "sir" or "miss".

(II) If you are going to charge an additional $30 to come in earlier than the designated check in time. Please, ensure that the room is to a standard that a 3pm check in customer will receive. The room should not be dusty and dirty, the rooms that are displayed on the website should be the rooms that the client receives.

The hotel had no wifi so moved to a room with wifi after several hours. The manager is off site or not available so hard to resolve issues. The bartender was awesome. wine menu had red and white, no clue what country or kind of red or white it was. Food choices limited, perhaps because hotel didn't have many guests other than school kids with their own buffet. Would not recommend ever ever.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience at the hotel. It sounds frustrating to deal with connectivity issues and limited food options. It's great to hear that the bartender provided excellent service, but it’s unfortunate that other aspects didn't meet your expectations. Your feedback is valuable; however we will improve offerings and communication. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I hope your future travels with Atlantique View Resort and Spa are much more enjoyable!

We lost our phones in the ocean earlier in our trip, so the only thing we had to go on was the "Discover Dominica" magazine. The magazine said this hotel had: phone, internet, SCUBA diving, spa, maid service, restaurant, pool, and beach access... for only $85/night! After a three hour taxi ride, exhausted and hungry, we were excited for 5 nights of luxury. Upon checkin, they wanted to charge us $115/night, saying that the $85/night was a local rate only. They finally gave us the room for $86/night after much discussion. The girls at the front desk had no idea where our room was, so we all discovered it's location together... how sweet. We went to dinner, and over half of the menu was no longer available, and there was no bartender at the bar. The food was pretty horrible, and extremely overpriced. Upon returning to our room, the whole bed was covered in bugs. We killed them with one of the two towels provided to us. We tried to go online... no internet. We tried to make a phone call... no phone service (there was no phone service or internet throughout our stay and since we lost our phones, we had no way of calling a taxi, booking a different hotel, or even buying plane tickets off the island). When we asked the staff about things to do in the area, they all sort of shrugged and said, "I don't know... I don't spend time around here." The spa was EMPTY. I repeat, THERE IS NO SPA. The spa is a lie. When we asked about SCUBA diving, they told us that we'd have to go across the island and book it ourselves. When we asked for more towels, they weren't sure they could get any for us. In our five nights there, we had maid service only once. Basically, we were stranded at this hotel. The staff is very friendly, all TWO of them. They are completely untrained. This hotel is only about 85% finished. You can see where they ran out of money and just stopped building it. As for the beach, we were warned many times not to swim in the ocean. Evidentially, the Atlantic side of the island is too dangerous to swim in, with many rip tides and currents. If you are reading this review, and think that we are simply not acclimated to island life, I assure you, we came to Dominica on a sailboat from our home island. There are plenty of wonderful places to stay in Dominica... this however, isn't one of them.

A two-night stay in sultry weather presents the need for multiple showers. However, half were as chilly as the hundreds of creeks on this spectacular island!

The meager breakfast buffet (featuring sliced cocktail weiners for the "meat") was the worst food & selection among the six stops we made in the Caribbean (as you would expect, Martinique was easily tops). After three requests, I simply could not get anyone to pour a cup of coffee and schlepped it from the bar myself. Finally, anyone opening the restaurant entrance was greeted by a blood-curdling screech reminiscent of fingernails-on-chalkboard as the door sweep scraped the floor.

The lone rack in the enormous marble bathroom was nearly pulled from the wall and threatened to "throw in the towel," so to speak, under any burden. But that was still an improvement over the shelf or soapdish or shampoo holder which were altogether AWOL. You could barely stretch past the shower curtain to reach the HIGH window ledge if you stood on you tippy-toes, but those under 5'10" need not apply!

On the other hand, there are lots of enjoyable fauna to accompany your stay--if you are an entomologist. They are tremendously photo-attracted, with a particular affinity for iPad screens. You'd think this would not matter for long, but the 3/16" gap between the balcony doors would make you wrong. When you turn out the outside lights to retire, they come inside for a nightcap.

If you have the impression that I could go on & on, you'd be right, but I'll spare you. It's all such a pity, because the breath-taking vista of two creeks meeting the ocean just below you could and should have been so much better realized. Spare yourself the tragedy and find other lodging on Dominica.

By the way, did I mention that we stayed in one of their five best suites?

Due to a reschedule of a work trip to the island, I was booked for a night at Atlantique View. The view was to die for. The staff welcome was wonderful, however, the room and no telephone service or internet when I got to it. Luckily, the staff member on duty had to return to the room, and I expressed my concerns and the internet service was expeditiously restored.

The room was modern and airy. And I got a great night's sleep. Upon waking in the morning I took the opportunity to enjoy an absolutely breath taking view before taking a leisurely stroll down to the restaurant and had an ok breakfast.

Another plus was that the drive to the airport was a comfortable 30minutes.

We stayed here for a night stop over during the England Cricket Test series, rather than spending 6 hours waiting in the airport. The hotel is lovely, with stunning views that you could look at all day long. There is a lovely 3 tier swimming pool which was lovely and refreshing and ideal for relaxing. Having not known the area, the hotel really is in the middle of nowhere and there is literally nothing around to do / venture out to sadly. The rooms are spacious, very comfortable with all modern amenities, with views to die for. My other reason for booking this hotel was the 'spa' part and I was disappointed when I arrived to find that there was no spa / gym etc. It was however, most humbling to stay in an area that was devastated by the Hurricane a few years ago and an eye opener speaking with a lot of the locals. This hotel really has a lot of potential and I hope that the new owners really can deliver because this place really could be superb, it has all the necessary facilities. All in all I would happily stay here again if ever in Dominica.

Atlantique view resort is a beautiful hotel located on the north of the island with a scenic view of the ocean and nestled amongst coconut trees..The pools are eye catching and perfect for a photo-op..rooms are decent enough equipped with the basic amenities..only draw back is that the food could be better...but all in all would spend another weekend to be away from the daily hustle and bustle
