Probably the hotel place on the island. There is a restaurant on site. Patio was being built. Looked better during my next visit in Jan 2018. Friendly, hospitable staff. Ofcourse it wasn't as luxurious as most hotels but way better than the motels that I...More
You will need to take a water taxi to the hotel, but once you get there, it is a beautiful place to watch sunsets or even the northern lights (on a clear evening). I was there on business, but think many would stay for sport...More
Well, wasn't sure what to expect.....but was pleasantly surprised. Well appointed, clean, comfortable, and truly a reflection of the North and the Community. A few things to be aware of; bring a hairdryer if you need one, they don't serve lunch, and some dinner items...More

Hello Jessica.
My name is Todd Haynes. I am the outgoing General Manager of Cree Village Ecolodge.
In fact, mid September, to mid November are the peak times to see the Aurora in our sub-arctic region.
We do not promote this as an attraction for the simple reason that our skies are not always clear that time of year. If you travel to our area, there is much to see, and learn. I know you will have a pleasant stay, and journey (getting there is half the fun), but there are no guarantees where the Aurora are concerned.
I hope this was helpful.
