First of all, don't let the steps put you off. They could have been higher and this is a valley!! We were given the top floor en-suite room, and it was very cosy. Lots of thoughtful details AND biscuits! The shower worked very well; and I speak as one who's stayed in houses where they don't! The breakfast was a...

I agree with everything already said. We have stayed there a bunch of times, including one fortnight visit. Ann and Bernard run a wonderful place. But no one has mentioned their knowledge of the area. Of course, they have lived there for ages. So they can tell you all the neat places to walk. Where to shop for what. The...

I'd just like to echo...

Turned up in Holmfirth off-season, and the Tourist Information recommended this place as excellent value, and close by. It was both of those things - only GBP35 for an en-suite with great breakfast, 3 mins walk into town, bang opposite a lovely pub, and very friendly couple as our hosts. One thing, though - it is not easy to get...
