We arrived at the hotel for our prebooked 2 night stay over the Spring Bank Holiday to find without warning that it was closed. The car park was empty, doors locked and no one answering the telephone number. Subsequently our booking agent told us that the hotel could not accommodate us. Finding other accommodation in the Yorkshire Dales on a...

We were there for two nights B&B plus two course meal on first night. It was good value for money but it was grubby. Our room had not been vacuumed for our arrival and was not done while we were there. There were lots of bits and bobs on the carpet and under the furniture had not been cleaned for...

We arrived after a100mile drive to be informed that there was no hot water and no facility to provide food and so they could not accommodate us. We were told they had tried to contact us. There were no missed calls on my mobile, no email and no messages on our landline. Would we return. No. I appreciate things breakdown,...

This is a lovely little pub, right next to St Oswald's Church. Nestled in an idillic setting with great food, friendly staff and a clean, comfortable room. There is also plenty of parking. We hope to return very soon xx

This hotel, really a pub with rooms, is in a lovely location and full of character but clearly in need of some TLC. We understood that the business is in the process of changing hands although staff were unclear about what was happening. They were clearly very short staffed on the Sunday evening when one person was having to manage...

I give the Marton Arms 2 out of 5 purely for the fact it is in the middle of been taken over and at present there is definately a staff shortage. The 2 points i score on in our exlerience is the idealic location and the great aspect of staying here with your dog! Friendly staff and very accomadating. Minus...

This was our second time here first time was last summer and it was excellent. So on a long journey home from a great day out we thought we would take a visit back. Me and my partner both had steak and ale pie. Thinking that it would be to the same standard as our first visit. It wasn't. A...

Perhaps my review is coloured by the fantastic weather we experienced while staying for two nights on 8/9 April. Like many others we got a good deal on Travelzoo for our stay. The setting of this pub couldn't be better, absolutely stunning location and as dog walkers we were very happy that we could just pop over the road into...

stopped for lunch last sunday to warm up after a ride out on the bike. The beer was good I even tried bitter for a change. The service was quick and friendly and we ordered a lamb roast dinner each ,we waited about 10-15 mins and it was worth the wait. The food was plentiful without feeling stuffed afterwards and...

It would be safe to say that after looking forward to this trip I was very disappointed. The good points were:- the room wasn't too bad although I was treated to a cold shower on arriving. The views were lovely. The staff were pleasant but there weren't t enough of them. ( Four in the entire hotel according to the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a traditional Country Inn located 3/4 of a mile from Ingleton and just 6 miles away from Kirkby Lonsdale. We have 10 guest bedrooms, two of which have four poster beds, one twin bedroom and one family bedroom, the rest are double bedrooms. We are ideally located for the those doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks or visiting the White Scar Caves and Ingleton Waterfalls. All of our food is prepared freshly on site to order and we use locally sourced suppliers. For those Ale drinkers we have 8 Cask Ale hand pulls, which during the busy season we try and have all 8 on. During the quieter months this is not always possible. For those winter months we have two roaring log burning stoves in the bar and for the Summer months we have two lovely beer gardens, one out the front of the hotel looking over St Oswalds Church and one out the back looking over open fields. ... more   less
