Turned up 2hrs late for our 7.30pm booked meal for 15 off roading lads and we were greeted as if we'd turned up at 7pm, we were welcomed and they couldn't do enough to help us get settled / fed and watered. We had better rooms than we booked and a great night sleep in well equipped clean rooms, it's...

We were in Leyburn for just one night, and chose The Golden Lion for our evening meal. It is a warm and friendly pub with a blazing log fire. Bar staff were friendly, and the real ales were in great condition. We had fish and chips with a side salad, other diners chose different things and all seemed to be...

Stopped in for a 'pub lunch' with my parents for a proper meal and really wish we hadn't bothered. The lass on the bar seemed to struggle with the concept of 'stout' and 'Guinness' being the same thing, and it didn't help that the closest thing to either OJ or lemon squash was Robinson's concentrate or oj in small bottles....

Called in for Sunday lunch with hubby. Lovely atmosphere, welcoming and friendly. Food was great. Hubby had the large size and I opted for the medium which was more than enough for me. There was a choice of meats and a good selection of veggies which were cooked to perfection and a very tasty gravy. Landlord, Landlady & all the...

What wonderful people. The staff were amazing. Great food at great prices. We stopped overnight, our room was facing the market place. We never heard them setting up the following morning. Breakfast was served at a time of our liking and it was amazing. Lovely full English with black pudding, fresh fruit and fruit juice. The pub is lovely and...

Firstly if you regard Toby Carvery as a good meal don't bother going or reading any further! This is a Traditional pub on the market square in Leyburn with an open fire and a warm welcome. There are two portion size options small or large of which we had the large option. Three slices of your desired meats (pork, turkey...

Called for an evening meal on a cold November night. Have to say the beef and ale pie and the sea bass were both very good. Staff friendly and helpful - and glad we could take the dog in with us. A little cold at the left side of the bar, so will make sure we go nearer one of...

Stopped for my tea here on a Tuesday night, bar staff were really welcoming, the lad that waited on was really polite, had the pubs curry and it was really nice, well presented for just pub grub, locals were pleasant enough too, all round was happy with my meal here.

Absolutely lovely. Clean warm and very comfy. Friendly caring staff. Helpful and interesting staff. We came to have a complete break from the madness of south-east England and this has fulfilled all our needs. We have relaxed and been treated like royalty
