Stayed as a family for three nights - comfortable beds, plenty of space, good showers, lovely staff and delicious food. Breakfasts are plentiful with a range of fresh juices, cereals, fruit, ham, cheese, bread, pastries and cooked - certainly set us up for the day! Dinner is a more formal and elaborate affair - lovely to dress up for and...

Amazing!!!! The food in the gallery restaurant is absolutely stunning and of Michelin star quality in my opinion. The staff are very friendly, helpful and always very pleasant! When at the black swan I always feel at home, sitting in the lounge areas in the comfy sofa's are the best place to be! It is just fabulous there, I enjoy...

We stayed here for a wedding wknd. As a venue for a wedding it was superb and the service the staff offered was truly faultless. Incredibly helpful and it is clear that they really put a lot of thought in to everything they do. We will definitely visit this hotel for a family weekend at another point. The area is...

This is not an inexpensive restaurant but we enjoyed a very pleasant meal with our friends. The food is very good but if you have a large appetite you may wish to consider ordering some additional vegetables, chips, potatoes etc. The style is not quite nouvelle cuisine but portions can be on the smaller side. The service was excellent and...

The staff were very friendly and welcoming right from the start and made us feel at home. We were also greeted with a glass of champagne and a sweet treat, which was delicious. Our room was perfect and had everything we needed. We decided to go for the 8 course taster menu, which tasted incredible and the staff took the...

We stayed in the suite for a night overlooking the church and the town square. You get a lounge with extra TV but a smaller bedroom which is great for those who plan to stay a few days or want something a little special. The bed was really comfy and we sleep really well. It was also very quiet and...

A nice hotel with comfortable rooms, good facilities and a superb, fine dining restaurant. Quite expensive for what it offers though given the rural location. Superb, very high quality breakfast. Beautiful garden. However, the hotel should have informed us that they were catering for 2 weddings during our 2 night stay. Clearly, the kitchen staff were hard pressed to keep...

We were visiting the Black Swan Hotel because it was a convenient mid-way point to meet a friend travelling from Harrogate, while we travelled from the North Yorkshire coast where we were staying near Whitby. As we had two bassets in tow, the Swan we were told would be perfect as it was dog-friendly. Entering the lounge area we were...

On arriving at this gorgeous country style hotel we found helpful friendly staff and were allocated room 48, after settling in and listening to a washer spin and tank fill up for a while, on checking with reception regarding this noise we were immediately allocated room 33 overlooking the garden, very nice room!! Dining in the restaurant was a lovely...
