We stayed here with some friends on Saturday Evening. Helmsley is lovely market town town and the hotel has a great market place location. The hotel and staff were warm and welcoming. The room clean and very comfortable with a lovely view out into the gardens. We choose to have the 6 course taster menu for our evening meal along...

We booked the 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other package for our anniversary. We received a friendly welcome from all the staff and the accommodation was lovely. As this is an old house some of the ceilings are a little low for tall people so beware. Our room (32) was lovely and cosy but a little...

The Black Swan is in a beautiful setting right in the middle of a market square. It is very picturesque with lots of old world charm. The staff are wonderfully attentive, and could not be faulted. Afternoon tea was super. I will definitely be visiting again as it was relaxing and worth every penny!

This was our final stop on a meandering trip back north through East England from Edinburgh to London and back again! We had high hopes given the reviews and quite frankly the price. Sadly we were a tad disappointed, it's just alright, nothing too special at all. We were lucky enough to have stayed in much more welcoming and quirky...

I had been to the Black Swan about two years ago to a special buffet put on for guests after a funeral and it was somewhere I thought would be ideal to stay and explore Helmsley. I was not disappointed. We had chosen DBB in a Superior Double room booked through Booking.com - the room was spacious and nicely furnished....

The room was very clean, beautifully decorated and a very comfortable bed. We paid extra for our dog to stay over and the staff were all very welcoming with her - it makes such a difference when the staff are so nice. Had breakfast in the room which was excellent. We had time to walk round the village, which is...
