Fantastic location in the heart of Grizedale Forest. The hospitality, cleanliness, accommodation and food are all first class. Have been there three times now and have had an excellent stay every time. Highly recommended to anyone.

To put it simply, we loved this place! We stayed at the Grizedale Lodge in August 2016 and we were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and the owner Richard greeted us and gave us a tour. So much thought has been put into every detail in this hotel. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available at...

Thank you for your review and such lovely comments. The focus for Debs and I has always been to simply create a place where people feel at home and want to return again and again, so it seems you understood what we are trying to do. I hope you will return when you next visit the lake District. All the...

A great place. Completely cut away from the modern world and entering a tranquillising hospitality of Richard and Dev. They particularly takes care of every need with a great smile. Short distance from Go Ape, picturesque Hawkshead town centre and Ambleside. A place to enjoy for everyone. We went with our elderly parents and they almost fallen love with Grizedale...

Thank you for your kind review. I am glad all of you enjoyed your stay so much here and perhaps we will have to visit India as your 'young' parents suggested to sample the lovely culture of the country and the people there. I hope you and your parents are able to retyrn some day. All the best Richard

What an excellent experience I have had at the grizedale lodge! There was not one thing I could have faulted as everything about the stay was brilliant. Me and my daughter were welcomed by Richard and he showed us around and made us feel at home. The cleanliness of the place and our room was excellent and the food was...

I can honestly say this is the best place I've stayed! We had a lovely welcome from Richard, showing us around before serving us tea and home made cake. The evening meals were amazing as were the breakfasts. We couldn't fault a thing and will definitely be returning. This is a great place to stay especially if you like walking...

Thank you for your review, and I am so pleased you both enjoyed your visit to the Lake District and of course Grizedale Lodge! Debs is an excellent cook and offers more specials for breakfast - especially tempting as a change from the Cumbria cooked breakfast if you are staying several days. I do hope you are able to come...

The Grizedale Lodge is a quirky, homely place, and the hospitality is top notch. Richard welcomed us and showed us the shared lounge, dining room and balcony. Our ensuite room is comfortable and interesting, furnished with a varied collection of pieces. We were served tea and coffee on the balcony, with homemade chocolate brownies. Dinner needs to be ordered as...

Thank you for writing such a detailed review of your stay, you obviously enjoyed your chocolate brownies and your evening dinner - which Deb's has been awarded an AA Dinner award for. Dinner has to be pre-ordered, so Deb's can prepare the food during the day - there is only 2 of us who cook and serve the meals so...

Recently returned from another stay at this delightful b & b. Cannot fault anything. Richard and Deb's attention to detail is exemplary. Very welcoming and dog friendly, our 2 mini jrt's settle immediately. Breakfasts are fantastic and my hubby can't get enough of the whisky porridge. Would recommend without any hesitation. Although I have traveled to England for nearly 40 years, I had never been to the Lakes District. Grizedale Lodge is set in the Grizedale Forest which is absolutely lovely and lush. I consider it a combination of a hotel and a B&B. The Lodge is within just a few miles of other villages, but we didn't stray too far...
