We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights. We took half board and the food was very good. The service was excellent and everybody was very helpful. Would go back again. The rooms are big and confortable. Activities all day long
Clean, well appointed hotel. Needs some updating but the room was huge! Large bedroom and lounge area, bathroom and large balcony. Hotel facilities were good and the restaurant served a lot of options at all meal times. I would absolutely stay here again and I recommend it to others. Right opposite the railway station (into Callela and Barcelona). Some decent shops in walking range too.
Good Day: Where do I begin! We planned a family trip to Spain with a tour operator Vacances Preference in Montreal. We had a budget and with we were told that we were going to Costa Brava. My husband and I needed a get away on the beach with our child of 15 months. We choose Europe: Spain as it’s is Zika Free and Red Algae Free. Direct flight as layovers are difficult with a baby. Our agent, Vacances Preferences in Montreal, promotes this great deal close to across the board walk at Hotel Montemar Martim. The hotel itself, it’s very clean, great food...and has an amazing staff, everyone is friendly that made our short stay at the hotel pleasant. The problem was where the hotel is located....We were told that it was 5-7 min walk to the beach...well it’s NOT ...be ready to walk 15 min...in the heat with a baby it’s not the ideal walk. My husband a P.E. Teacher and I found it ridiculous...not child friendly nor stroller friendly...walking under a tunnel where the local train passes...by camp grounds with no board walk...We found the walk horrible! If you need to by Fresh Milk for your baby as we did and do...you have to walk to the Carrefour behind the hotel! Again, a 20-25 min. walk minimum just going to the grocery store found in the Carrefour because the hotel doesn’t not serve fresh refrigerator milk, they serve milk in Cartons that isn’t refrigerated which isn’t to my Canadian and American standards. Therefore, by the time you have purchased the milk and gage walked back to the hotel, you have wasted 1hr 30 min. To top it off, we were told that the hotel had proper refrigerators that cool to 3 to 4•C, which it doesn’t. We had to keep the milk at bar, sealed probably. Thankfully, the hotel management was kind enough to let use the bar refrigerator. If you plan on going to Santa Susanna...be ready to feel like you are in Wildwood stuck in the 80’s...Not ideal for young families. We were told that Santa Susanna is on Costa Brava! Well, it’s NOT Folks! False Advertisement! It’s in Costa Maresime (Barcelona). It’s not even adjacent to Costa Brava! Costa Brava is 15-20 Km north of Santa Susanna. We called our agent and complained...boy did we complain...the tour operator transferred us to a local travel agency that they deal with Blau Mari. They did everything possible to try to please us...They Transferred us to another area Lloret De Mar! As choice was limited due to bookings...no availability! They sent us to hotel Rosemar Maritim...a complete a disaster: Rosemar Martim filthy! I have never seen a hotel to filthy like that...we stayed three nights...again...we complained so much for how dirty and tiny the rooms are...finally we enjoyed the last two days across the street at the Rosemar Spa. The management gave a family room that was clean. I was pleased with the last two days of our stay in Lloret de Mar. We were in Costa Brava across street from the beach...but again Lloret de Mar is a party town with young adults partying late at night! Overall, We trusted the agent and it’s advertised product! It’s false! Look at the advertisement I’ve posted! Had we known, we have never chosen this destination! Next time, we will deal with Tourist Information Offices in the country we plan on travelling to!…
I stayed here for 3 nights recently and was very impressed with the hotel as it is very clean and the staff are fantastic and really go out of their way to help you and nothing is too much trouble. The pool area is really pleasant, there is day and evening entertainment to suit all ages. The food is fantastic and in addition to all of the meals offered they have chef stations in the restaurant where you can order freshly cooked eggs at breakfast, meat and fish etc in the evenings. The alcohol is reasonably priced in the bar and restaurant and we paid approximately 9 euros for a bottle of wine which is great value by usual hotel prices. The rooms are basic but immaculately clean, our room didn't have a great view as it overlooked the carpark of the hotel opposite but this wasn't a major issue. Barcelona airport is only a 25 minute car journey away and the hotel kindly sorted a taxi for us too. I wouldn't return to Santa Susanna as there isn't much to do or see and I didn't like the shingle beach but for anyone who goes there I would highly recommend this hotel.…
I stayed here for 4 nights with my Husband on half board We booked a family room which was huge and it had a good sized balcony We had requested a first floor room but on arrival was told we had a third floor room, however the hotel was very helpful and changed our room to a first floor The food was excellent, fresh meat and fish being cooked in the dining room every night, and a chef cooking eggs omelettes etc in the mornings The hotel has 2 glass lifts that take you next to the dining room The hotel is very clean The train station and bus stop is directly opposite the hotel, we spent a day in Blanes which is really lovely On a Tuesday they have a big market opposite the hotel, and there was a few evening stalls just along from the hotel Santa Suzanna was very quiet whilst we were there possibly because it was April There aren’t really that many decent shops in the resort a lot of them are the usual tourist shops You can walk across a dirt track field at the back of the hotel and go to Carrefour, a supermarket that also has a few shops in We found it impossible to get an English paper or Magazine anywhere in the resort or supermarkets, mainly because the resort had mainly Spanish and German tourists I think To sum up, the hotel is a good base to stay and to visit other places on the near by train, I would definitely stay at this lovely hotel again…
