This small hotel provides excellent value for money in what is a beautiful but expensive loaction. It just back from the wonderful beach and sea front, the staff are excellent, room and beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. Parking was always possible nearby and would definitely return.

Wonderful folks running the Monte Carlo. The chef even let us take dinner to our room balcony one night! Great location and price, would definitely stay again. The breakfast buffet is great value and excellent.

This hotel is situated in a prime location just around the corner from the beautiful beach in llafranc. On arrival I was given the third floor but no lift ,so you need to be mobile to negotiate the 30 plus stairs daily! The room was clean simply furnished and cleaned daily. The bathroom is tiny and any slightly larger people would have difficulty getting into the shower. There was also a nasty smell that came from the bathroom seemed like a plumbing issue. The staff were friendly and helpful and llafranc is beautiful. A lift for the stairs and a good plumber would do wonders for this little hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Montecarlo. The hotel is walking distance to the beach and owned by a welcoming and friendly family. The rooms are simple and clean, and most have private balconies or terraces to relax on after a long day at the beach. The hotel offers a great free breakfast every morning stocked with local fruit, a variety of pastries, and eggs, cheeses, and meats. We were hesitant to eat in the same place we were staying, since we wanted to explore more. But after a long day of kayaking we were too exhausted to go out and decided to stay in - this was the best decision because we had the best dinner salad with fresh seafood and home grown veggies that we had had during our whole trip. It was so good that we decided to come back the next day to try their Paella for lunch - also amazing and extremely affordable! They also sell local Catalonian wines and Catalan Creme. If you are looking for the best value for money and don't mind climbing stairs, this is the place.

We have just returned from staying at this Hotel for 5 nights. We have gone to this area most years for the last 30 plus years and we stayed at the Hotel Montecarlo for a night about 30 years ago. Although the Hotel is not modern, it certainly has character and is typical of a small Spanish Hotel. So many hotels are so cosmopolitan these days, you could be anywhere in the world. The staff and small dog were exceptionally pleasant, we could not fault the breakfast. The room was maybe a little dated but had everything we required, a fridge, a good shower room, comfortable bed and fantastic balcony. We were on the third floor and had fantastic views of the sea over the roof tops. Everything was so peaceful in Llafranc at this time of year, and if you want to avoid the usual tourist traps, I would certainly recomment this hotel.
