Stayed here about 5 times now. Hotel is quite dated but they are renovating so rooms should be nicer. Food and drink is ok. Snacks between meal times also fine. You won’t go hungry unless you are very picky eater. Although the bacon is terrible but this is the case in other hotels too. My main complaint is that they don’t enforce the non smoking areas. No matter where we sat we had smoke blown all over us. I have bad asthma and try to avoid any smokers. There were even guests smoking in the infinity pool. I know to smokers they don’t care but to non smokers it’s the equivalent of trying to eat in a sewage dump. Staff walking past people smoking in non smoking areas. Would definitely go back if this was addressed as it is in the likes of The Eden. Altamadores. Etc

Myself and my boyfriend booked this stay for September 2019. We were particularly impressed with the way in which they treated my gluten allergy. I had noticed them before my trip and on check in they gave me a card and told me to show the restaurant staff when we went to eat (we were all inclusive). Every meal time they took me around the whole buffet with a simple yes or no and most of it was safe for me! They offered every night to cook me gluten free pasta or pizza too! Felt really well catered for! The room was really nice and the balcony was a good size with a sea view. The pool was nice too, and we could find a sun bed at any point in the day - there were LOADS!! Just a shame there were kids in the ‘adults’ only jacuzzi. The area is nice too. Lovely beaches, the stairs down are long but we weren’t bothered by this and a taxi back up to the hotel from down by the beach was only a few euros. Staff were all great, drinks were nice, overall it was a really lovely stay. We didn’t watch a lot of entertainment as it’s not really our thing. We much preferd the inside bar which just had a singer and was a lot more chilled and adult friendly.

Just spent 7 nights here and what I would describe as a reasonably nice hotel, dated in a lot of places and could do with a revamp, especially the rooms. Guests have to pay daily for TV in room! Guests have to pay to use safe on room! The Restaurant staff were pleasant enough but the bar tenders were mainly pig ignorant, especially the one who looks like Dracula’s grand daughter. The food was reasonable, we didn’t go hungry. All inclusive beer was like drain water and very low in alcoholic content. Plenty of sun loungers, extremely cold pool, March I know but it was like an ice bath. Smoking allowed in most places, notices direct smokers to the exclusive “smokers corner” but this wasn’t enforced by the hotel staff. The whole experience was overshadowed by the Corona crisis, Puerto Rico on lockdown, and ending up confined to the hotel. The hotel management didn’t handle the situation at all well, Saturday pools open, Sunday pools closed, Monday Pools open, Tuesday pools closed and one single loudspeaker announcement that all guests have to return to their rooms, which only few guests did, and it was never mentioned again. I have stayed in worse hotels, but I can’t imagine I would rebook here, it was OK, just ok.

This is a fantastic hotel , the Pool, Restaurants , Bars, food ,Drinks, Staff amazing I would have given 5* But the room we had really let it down . We have stayed in nicer S/C Apartments it was tired and needed a good revamp and no tea/coffee etc. We asked to be moved which they said wasnt a problem but we would have to cough up an extra 40 euro per night for the pleasure we had already paid Jet2 £1.400 for the 2 of us so i certainly was prepared for anymore which was a shame , also you have to pay for english channels if like us we dont go out every night we enjoy the days more . But we had a lovely time the staff were the best and drinks on tap you just help yourself to beer tea, coffee, soft drnks and water food good sometimes not as hot as id like but still very good spotlessly clean and hand sanitisers everywhere would deffo recommend . Also its very high up so need taxis to go anywhere although if you want you can take the 720 steps to the beach which we did but didnt attempt them back up we got taxi for 4 euro overall great hotel but for us the room was a big let down

We visited Gran Canarian, Puerto Rico week 10. Found hotel puerto azul located top on the hill, nearby amadores beach. Due to location, lot of stairs and hillside walkways aroud the hotel. If you have some motility, rental car or taxi is best way to operate. Anyway, take sneakers with you. Several walkways are also slippery due to relief. Hotel puerto azul is family friendly, staff very friendly. Most of rooms have seaview. Decoration is typical canarian style. Restaurant services average all inclusive. Pool area clean and huge number of sunbeds. No need to reserve own sunbed as usually in canarian hotels. Hygiene level was exellent , maybe that's why no harmful korona virus suspections were found in gran canarian. I would thank hotel staff for exellent work keeping hygiene level high. There is no noisy music after 11pm, so slept well. Highly recommed this hotel for families.
