Unfortunately, we stayed only one night but I told me wife we were coming back someday and using Villa le Barone as a base for touring the Chianti region. I have stayed all around the world and this is one of the most beautiful properties I have ever seen, from the views toward Panzano, which are breathtaking, to the grounds...

Dear Randy C, for someone coming for the first time and staying with us only one night, you have exactly grasped what we are: a haven of beauty and serenity from which to discover the lovely Chianti region around us. I should advise readers to stay at Villa le Barone more than one night (and this not only for our...

Back again for a week at this most enjoyable spot in all of Toscana! Everything about it is the best so here goes: we stayed in a room with big wide doors overlooking the olive grove and enjoyed the sunrise and sunset. The room was very comfortable with all the amenities, and on a quiet path to the dining round...

Dear Julie, so good to have had the occasion to host you (and Robin) once more and so good of you to have reviewed us taking the time from your many activities. The title of your review "The best of the best" is certainly flattering, but your judgement has been biased since your first visit to Villa le Barone when...

We really enjoyed the huge room at barone. The breakfast is great as well as the grounds are just incredible. Dinner is fantastic every night, if you eat dinner all of the nights you stay you get a great discount just ask the front desk. Also you might just meet the count and countess at dinner, fun place to stay....

Lovely property in Panzano area of Tuscany. A little difficult to find but worth it. The room was pleasant and spacious with nice views; had a very comfortable king bed. Room also had a loft/sitting room. Bath was updated and spacious. The onsite restaurant was very good especially for breakfast. Dinner was good although beef was overcooked and pricey for...

Dear Marcia B, thank you very much for your honest feedback. I am very sorry you had the impression that staff's" attitude was not as friendly as expected" but- with only these elements- I cannot pinpoint were the problem has been (if you woud send me a mail to explain in more detail I would better understand and remediate). Six years later and everything was even better than we'd remembered. On this visit, we'd promised ourselves that we'd relax more, take advantage of the beautiful pool and gardens and make sure that we attempt some of the suggested walks and drives; on all counts we were delightfully satisfied. Despite bringing rain with us - we loved hiking through the...

Dear Pil0tsdaughter, some parts of your comments (many thanks for writing up!) made me smile with pleasure: yes, the walks to the surroundings of Villa le Barone are pleasant and - with "the right amount of effort"- will get you to your destination and a "well earned" meal; no, my wife and I are just in average shape and often...

My wife and I stayed here in late September for 4 nights as part of 10 days in Italy celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. It was truly perfect in every way and exceeded our expectations. The location is very nice with well maintained pretty grounds and gorgeous views. However for the money I would have thought the rooms would have been more luxurious. There wasn't even a TV.
