From 23 until 25 december 2017 we stayed in this hotel with 22 persons of our family. The rooms are spacious. Italian breakfast was fine but served in a big restaurant ( not cosy ). Easy transport to Milan by train.
But a few weeks ago different members of our family were surprised by 3 penalities from local police (3x66.51€ each! ) for entering the Via Colombo by car on 23, 24 and 25 december.
However, at our arrival on 23/12, the receptionist confirmed that we, as a guest of the hotel, could enter the street by car to load and unload luggage and drop people.
We contacted the Local Police of the Comune di Monza to explain the situation and asked to cancel the fines.
They told us they couldn’t do this because it is the responsibility of the hotel to communicate the license plates of the hotel guests to the police to avoid fines during their stay.

The hotel is downtown Monza. Rooms are spacious and fairly clean. Breakfast is very limited.
The big disadvantage of the hotel is the kind of service you get. The employees can barely speak English. Some of them don't speak English at all. This can make communication a real nightmare. The cleaning staff are inattentive. They forget to replace bath products etc. It seems that the managers of the property care only about the hotel restaurant and not the hotel itself. I arrived to find a waiter checking me in and show me to my room. The light in the room was not working. The waiter-receptionist reassured me that they will fix it first thing in the morning. Guess what? I left a week later and the light was still not working. Nobody bothered. Last night I got back to the hotel at 1:30 am to find the entrance locked. I had to wait about half an hour out in the cold. Finally someone came up and let me in. Terrible experience.
The hotel restaurant is nice and it's busy every night. I think though that they should respect more those who actually stay in the hotel. The communication issue is serious if you don't speak Italian. I really don't understand how people who don't know basic English are allowed to work in the hotel industry nowadays.

What a wonderful find, great individually decorated rooms, and superb restaurant on the ground floor!
Stayed here before the Monza Grand Prix for four days.
Monza itself is a lovely town with great bars and restaurants everywhere.
Rooms were clean and large and the staff were helpful and friendly.
Would definitely stay here on my next visit.

Ever been to a place that you just wanted to keep to yourself lest it be overrun and would not have a table left? The Nine Hotel and Pizzeria Del Centro in Monza ist just that.
Let's start with the dessert: the restaurant has its own bakery. All desserts and the bread are made there. The pastry chef, maestro pasticcere Delio Pastorelli, is a master of his craft. His pasta di mandorle is incredibly moist with a delicate flavour of toasted almonds and butter. At breakfast go have a chat, inhale the wonderful aromas and watch Mr Pastorelli and his team at work. If you are lucky, you can have a taste of one of his creations fresh from the oven!
Most people don't know that Milan is the centres for the fish trade of Italy. At the Pizzeria Del Centro you get to taste the sought after Mediterranean tuna. Make sure to check out Paul - he is Peruvian, presides behind the fish counter and is a master chef. Try his Tartar di Tonno with Avocado or his Beef Tartare (hand cut!) and don't tell me you have tasted better. For the first timers, the Tris di Tonno is a good introduction to the amazing melt in the mouth flavour of raw Mediterranean tuna. Order some Pizza Marinara (no cheese, just Marinara sauce) and you are set for a culinary experience that will make you want to return! No wonder the restaurant attracts over 1,000 guests at weekends.
After your meal go for a walk to see the Duomo at night. Then retire to you spacious, clean and air-conditioned room which of course is edgily designed.
Another must in Monza is people watching at the Caffe Moderno.
Enjoy!
