We could not have received a warmer welcome from Dorothy to her home. Breakfast was sumptuous and delicious. We loved the evening at Peppers Pub, with the vibrant music and friendly service. I will not easily forget the drive through corridors of green vegetation. So lovely, so serene, such soul-food.
We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We are an extended family, traveling with my 80 year old mom. Dorothy and Michael are wonderful. So welcoming, friendly and funny. The B&B is very comfortable, homey, amazing breakfasts and great company. The dogs were a bonus, as we were missing ours at home. Great tips for local music too! It was hard to say goodbye and we are already thinking of a return trip.
I stayed here for 3 nights with my lovely dog, Harvey. There is 1 room allocated for guests with a pet, and it's a comfortable twin/triple with ensuite shower room, good wifi and very comfortable. Dorothy is a lovely host, who welcomed us with open arms and makes a delicious breakfast. The 'triplets' aka Guinness, Sheila and Rua, are the family's 3 dogs - all very sweet. There are also adorable donkeys, the lake, and fields of wild flower meadows which make for a beautiful walk. Highly recommend - ask for the exact location as it's off the beaten path, but that means it's super quiet.
We enjoyed a few days at Clondanagh B&B with our kids aged 7&6. The setting was beautiful and very tranquil. We spent a lovely morning with the canoes on the lake, having lunch in the picnic area, walks with the friendly dogs and feeding the donkeys. Dorothy was a wonderful host and genuinely interested in helping to make our trip memorable. Fantastic location for exploring county Clare too. Would highly recommend.
Dorothy’s place was located in Tulla with amazing surroundings; Very central to many locations. Dorothy is a very special person and she makes you feel you are at home. I recommend it highly. Tulla has a grocery shop very handy. Dorothy recommenced a few places to eat which were very reasonable priced. As well Dorothy knows the area very well so we were able to visit many place with out having to travel long distances. Thank you Dorothy
We loved our stay at Clondanagh Cottage! Our hosts were excellent, always providing excellent information (and delicious breakfasts!) The location is perfect for enjoying the natural beauty and traditional music of East Clare. With friendly animals and comfortable accommodations, you really couldn’t ask for more. We had a grand time and would happily stay again!
This was a return visit for us and Clonddagh Cottage did not disappoint. Our hosts could not have been anymore welcoming and accommodating of our needs. Our room was extremely comfortable and morningtime, we were served with a hearty breakfast with plenty of choices in the delightful dining room. They are in a very tranquil setting, offering way more facilities for guests to enjoy than would be expected from a B&B and they are well located as a base for touring. We look forward to staying there again soon.
Clondanagh is fabulous, my husband & I along with our 2 children (ages 10 & 7) stayed here in Sept 2018 for 1 night. The area is simply breathtaking - the cottage is gorgeous, its so cosy yet very spacious too, the rooms were very comfortable indeed & catered for all of us. Dorothy is just so friendly, and helpful. She made us feel so welcome, my children were so sad to leave. We sat by the log fire, played boardgames drank tea, it was heaven. There is a hot tub available to those who might like that. Outside we met her 3 beautiful dogs & 2 cats. After a great sleep we were fed like Kings by Dorothy with her home cooked breakfast - plenty choice for all. The children were given carrots & apples & ran off down to visit the 7 donkeys to give them breakfast too. Then across the road to the lake - the dogs came with us! This place to more than a B&B - its a retreat, a chance to recharge the batteries, perfect for couples & families alike, we most certainly will return, maybe next times, minus the children & an opportunity to try out the hot tub!…
If you are looking for really genuine Irish hospitality and you are in Co. Clare in Ireland try to stay in Clondanagh B&B and Farmhouse. We discovered this B&B quite by accident. As the house is a little off the main road the owner Dorothy met us in the local village of Tulla and directed us to this charming accommodation. Dorothy was born on the property and her mother ran a guest house on the same farm. When you meet Dorothy you will know you have met one very unique ladies who were born to be an hostess. She is warm, friendly, informative and very humourous. The four bedroomed house is cosy and welcoming. The bedrooms are ample sized and the beds large. Breakfast is not a meal, more of an extended conversation with friends accompanied by the best of Irish food, Children will simply love this hideaway. They can use the kayaks supplied by Dorothy on the nearby lake . On the farm there are four people friendly dogs, 7 donkeys, three horses ( rescued animals) . If you ask nicely Dorothy will let you prepare her own carrots and apples for you or the children to feed the donkeys and horses. Don't forget to try the hot tub in the orchard. Bring a bottle of wine and share the evening lights. Excellent value for money. This is not a guest house, this is a gem. Thank you so much Dorothy and family.…
The only caution before booking is that guests must love animals. The dogs are outside but will follow you on a walk and greet you on your return each day. I loved this as the setting is so peaceful that a walk along the road or down to the lake reminded me of home with a dog beside me. The donkeys are also there for petting and feeding. Carrots are provided! Dorothy is a great hostess and the kitchen is a great bonus to travelers to avoid having to find places to eat out every night. Most of all, guests are welcome to just hang out, there is no feeling of being pushed out for the day. I didn't use the lake facilities but understand there are canoes and fishing if wanted. The hot tub is delightful, accessed through a small orchard following the fairy lights. Tulla is a small village but the shop has a great range of foods, including gluten free.…
