We were collected from Turin and driven 3 hours to the resort ! Dumped at reception with nobody speaking English and chaos where everyone was checking in at the same time. Resort is over four levels not for disabled or the faint hearted. Blanche is on a level (1800) that has no bar, no restaurant just a very small coffee shop/bakery which has limited groceries and only open during the day.

Main shop and 3 bars/restaurant is on 1600 level which is ok going down but coming back up with shopping or full tummy presents a challenge. There is a resort bus which is free however this stopped running at 7pm so no chance of getting back after a night out unless it is on foot !

The apartments themselves were clean and well equiped, there was noise from children running up and down the corridor however this usually stopped at 10pm as the residence has a quiet policy.

Close to ski runs and lifts however as a beginner there was only one green run although they advertise more so became a bit monotonous at times. If you dont ski there is NOTHING to do in the resort unless you want to prop up one of the few bars all day ! If you want to eat at any of the three restaurants make sure you book as they are always fully booked.

There is a cinema on 1600 however all films are in French, Polish or Russian NO English.

The TV cost 29 euros for the week however there are no Eglish programmes, so we thought we would try the internet.......Internet cost 30 euros for a week, dont bother getting it the download speed was extremely slow and we were unable to download any programmes to watch as French internet does not support English programme downloading i.e. no itv or bbc iplayer !

We went with Mount Vacation Travel Operator and on our return transfer to the airport they sent a bus with not enough seats so my husband had to spend the three hour transfer sat on a suitcase in the boot...... we have asked for a refund of his return transfer fee so will update you how they rectify this mistake !

Overall NOT a very enjoyable holiday !

A conveniently close to the slopes, comfortable residence. My family went and were perfectly satisfied with our apartment. It can be rather hot, but at least the clothes dry out quicker! It also came with a lovely view of the mountains, and was very peaceful.

Residence Dame Blanche is set directly on a red run just below 1800m at Puy St Vincent. The views are stunning and it is all very peaceful - we did not hear anyone else while in the apartment.
There is a coffee shop downstairs selling fresh bread each day as well as light meals.
It is ideal if you are self sufficient - if you are able to get there, the supermarkets at Argentiere offer much better value than those in the resort.
I have stayed here in winter and summer and love it - and the bars and facilities at 1600m are great. Highly recommended.

Me and 7 of my friends arrived at this residence to enjoy the last 7 days of year 2010. The residence itself is ok. We are not picky customers and we are used staying low standard holes. I would give this a very positive review, but I can't due to the things that happened during the week. We had a nice party one evening. In the middle of the night two security guards came to our room with the request of turning music down. Which is normal, and we did this. But the guards came into the room and stayed there for like 4 hours. We chatted with them, gave them some food and drink. On the end when they left we noticed that the brand new iPhone 4 is missing from the table. We searched everything and since the two guards where the only ones who entered and left the room that night we are 100% positive they took it. We reported the thing to the hotel officials immediately but they were not very responsive and keen to help. They did not put any pressure on the two security guards... We reported the whole thing to local police, but they were unable to retrieve back our iPhone 4.

We were very shocked by this. Never ever I have heard that hotel stuff (security) would steal the guest property!

Other negative things about the hotel would be:
- when we arrived into our room 1 bed was missing (7 instead of 8 places to sleep)
- there was a leak under the kitchen sink ... they had to call technician to fix it
- one heater was not working, thought it made no sense since it very hot in the room anyway
- they only have 2 saunas for 6 people and you have to reserve it in front and you can only have it for 30 minutes. and since the hotel is very big it's almost impossible to get your slot!

The location of the hotel itself is one of the best in Puy Saint Vincent. Only few meters away from the ski slopes and bakery. From this point of view I would highly recommend it, but I don't know if this is enough to risk having some of your things stolen from your room by hotel stuff. There are other hotels near by!

Do not believe the boast that this accommodation at 1800 is suitable for families. It is dedicated to school parties and university students and is within a stones throw of a nightclub in a marquee. Go to Facebook and have a look at Skibiza Puy St Vincent. It is trying to be the snow equivalent of Ibiza. The resort is limited but is pleasant but if you go stay at 1600 maybe in the Sun Apartments where you should get a nights sleep! Be warned.

We stayed in a 6 bed apartment which is a good size for a family of four. It is well furnished and has everything you need but you will need to bring or buy toilet paper, a tea towel, dishwasher tablets, clothes for cleaning as none of this is provided. Dame Blanche is perfectly situated at 1800m you can ski straight out onto the piste. It is quieter than the appartments at 1600. The outside pool is a welcome addition and heated to 30C. This is only open during the school holidays as are the navettes, shuttle buses which go between the resorts at 1600 and 1400. Fortunately our February half term was the same as the french one so pool was open and navettes were in operation. There is a restaurant beside the residence, Tom Rider, and also a place to hire your ski wear, Go Montagne. You can also reserve a car parking space if you need one. If you are not bringing sheets and towels, don't forget to hire them in advance.

The reason why I did not give the apartments 4 stars is that they expect you to do an inventory of everything in the kitchen when you arrive, number of plates, knives and forks, saucepans etc when you arrive and also write a report on the state of walls, furniture, bathroom etc. You have 48 hours to do this. Then when you leave you have to do a full clean and have an inspection, plus you are expected to take your used sheets and towels down to reception. The check in process seemed quite stressful too. It took nearly 15 minutes to do and I wasn't sure why. I think both check in and check out processes could be improved - so it is less of a chore and more of a holiday. Apparently this is quite standard in France so it would probably have been the same if we had stayed in another apartment on the resort.

Puy St Vincent itself is a great ski resort for beginners and intermediate skiers. It is relatively quite and has quite a number of slopes to keep you amused. It is also a great place for walking. Dogs are allowed in the apartments. I think I may bring mine next year. Now I know what a dog friendly and family friendly resort it is.

The residence has an excellent location, right next to the slopes. It's maybe inconvenient for beginners to go directly to the red track but you can climb only a few steps more and cross to the green path.
We were two in a four-bed apartment. Although I think it is ideal for 2 people, it is not too small for 4 also :) Apartment contains everything you need, equipped kitchen, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster ... bathroom and separate toilet ... terrace with a view of the mountains is excellent. Each room has its own free Wi-Fi which is great.
Within the accommodation there is a sauna, an outdoor pool (unfortunately we were not informed that it opens after February 10), a very small shop with a few basic things and wonderful croissants for 1e :D For biggers shopping you have to go to stores at 1400m on foot or with a free van which stops near the accommodation.
Girls at the reception are very kind, too!

To sum up, a great place for a reasonable price at a great location...I hope we'll come back again :)

Perfectly located, good quality and size compared to french alpine standards. Pro: location, view, bar and grocery store in the building, indoor parking. Con: only 1 toilet in the 8/10 apartments, renovation would be necessary.

Was here at the very end of Winter tourist season to enjoy snowboarding.

We were a couple in a room for 4.
Fully equipped tiny kitchen with a fridge, big dining table, couch (to be layed out as a second bed), small conference table, double bed and several closets.
The double bed was separated by a curtain, however I cannot imagine having four people being accommodated in there. The price is obviously higher when only two people inhabit the room (for us +70 Euro / person).

Enjoyed the breakfast from just-around-the-corner bistro, importing freshly baked pastry every morning (I recommend pain du chocolat).
Bistro offers other foods for reasonably high "mountain" prices, but nothing excellent and a few basic food (milk, baguettes, cheese, salami, pasta ..) however it's twice the price than the supermarket located at the main cashiers down the hill.

You have to pay for Wi-Fi 40 Euros (We had it free as one of the last customers for the season) Fast and reliable, don't know how it works when the residence is full up in the middle of the season.

The residence offers also sauna free of charge, however we haven't had the time to try it out, sadly.

The service was typical "French"ish as the receptionist was quite randomly present at the reception.

When skiing you basically "walk out" of the hotel to the piste.

There is a big plaza down the hill at the biggest hotel. There are quite a few restaurants, souvenir shops, one bar and supermarket where you can get all the basic goods.
I recommend the cheese, salami and sweets shop, where you can get all the French specials. We had amazing dinner from there, called "Raclette". You get a take-away amount of various salami, ham and a portion of cheese + heating machine for the cheese.
