We wanted a friendly, unpretentious place near the Abbey of Le Thoronet, and the Clos des Médiévales filled the bill perfectly for our family of 4 plus small dog! The rooms are spartan but clean; beds are comfortable; heater works (we stayed in December); the woman at the reception is friendly and helpful; and the breakfast is very good. Prices for rooms and breakfast are extremely reasonable. And -- unexpected bonus -- the new restaurant the receptionist recommended was excellent. We liked it so much at dinner that we returned the next day for lunch. We'll definitely stay here the next time we visit l'Abbaye du Thoronet. Only hitch: Wi-Fi did not work in our room; but it was fine in the breakfast room. PS I don't think Alex looked to carefully for the outlets. We had no trouble with our computers. And all you have to do is ask at the reception desk for the free mineral water.

We went to a wedding in the area and wanted to stay over night. Clean decent rooms. We were 3 families and we were right next to each other. Not many people ther in fact we were the only one until a couple checked in. Nice enough breakfast if you choose to have it. Not too expensive as well. PROBLEM: the reception area closed at noon the day we were there. No phone number to call posted on the door. We ran into the housekeeper by chance. She was getting ready to leave and showed us to our rooms.. The keys were inside the room. Not a problem. Also 2 min walk to the village. as we were getting ready for the wedding a couple came and didn't know what to do to check in. I sent them to the village to call the number on the conformation receipt. They were lucky I was there and that I asked the housekeeper what we would have done if she wasn't there. That's how I knew.

While attending European Dressage championships for Junior/ Young Riders nearby at Vidauban. Rooms with breakfast, exactly that! Clean, neat and comfortable rooms with every basic necessity provided. Comfortable bed and air conditioning that was efficient, just as well since the temperatures during the week we were there, were between 35 and 40 degrees C! Adequate breakfast efficiently provided. Access to local quaint village by few minutes walk and two or three more than adequate places to eat. Excellent value for money.

Agree with everything below except we thought there was a restaurant - but on phoning ahead it turned out there was not - maybe our very limited French - not sure. After this less than encouraging start it turned out that the room was large, clean, well kept, modern and everything including wifi and tv worked and all forensically clean - completely spotless and believe me I am a mattress and under-bed checker!! Agree its not at all medieval and our sat nav found the hotel name and then sent us half way up a track and ended up somewhere outside somebody's house - maybe the GPS co-ordinates are incorrect on TomTom so worth checking. The place is very easy to find, if coming from dir. Cotignac there are signs on the left just after the shopping area around some modern buildings very easy to find and very friendly staff. Given a main door code and also a room key so could come and go at any time once checked in (9pm latest). Very quiet area and room - not a sound but reception lady pointed to where the restaurants were and it was easy to find a couple of places open at about 08:30 on a Sunday night (rare in rural France). Had a great convivial meal at Mon Paradis Provencal just past the police station with a charming host who provided free aperatifs and premise made fig confiture as a gift - perfect. Meal at around 40 euros for two not cheap but great quality and worth it for the ambience. All in all a good stay - breakfast yet to be commented on but hopeful given the comments of others :)
