We planned a family reunion in 2019 for Costa Rica. Living here, we needed to find an area that would show off the natural beauty of Costa Rica, and as well as a place that would be suitable for ages 1 to 80. We chose the Costa Ballena and Uvita as the perfect location. We looked at several places in the area that would accommodate our group of 15, but Uvita Paradise was clearly the best choice for our group. We liked that each unit was independent, but at the same time the pool area offered the ability to have meals together. Each kitchen offered the opportunity for snacks or quick meals, and we used the big grill for together meals, or the larger kitchen in the 2 bedroom unit. Our host David was awesome, extremely friendly and helpful -- he helped us arrange the best tour -- canyoning in Uvita. And set us up with a fantastic guide for Manuel Antonio as well. The location is perfect for groups, you can walk to 2 different park entrances, and there are several restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Uvita is generally a quiet town, so even though it is a very central location, noise isn't an issue. Highly recommended, the apartments have everything you need, they are clean and also modern. The pool is really big for the size of the complex, and the pool area is laid out perfectly, with shady areas for when you need it.

Uvita Paradises wears its name well! We spent a few days at the end of our trip in Costa Rica and it was really nice and relaxing! The whole structure is new and modern, with practical equipment (kitchenette, airconditionning, hair dryer...). They kindly waited for us with cold water and fresh watermelon, which was enjoyable after a long ride. And the pool is perfect to relax! David the owner was very friendly, flexible and helpful, sharing good advice about what to visit. And he was so kind to let us stay longer at the property as our flight was later in the day. There are several beaches nearby and the natural park with the whale tale, which are amazing for spending the day and watching the sunset. We had a great stay and highly recommend!

Walking distance to the national Park. Owner told us that we are better to go to park before 8 am because no park entrance fee. Also, there is a free way to the beach in the park. It is told by one local person who live in the neighborhood. Room is clean and have refrigerator. Just need to drive to the town center. About 3-5mins. Due to their laundry machine has problem, they helped us take our laundry to laundry mat. We have good two days here. There is a market around there.

What a lovely little self-contained property! Just 4 units (so you basically have a private pool). Locked front gate so very secure. They even did a bit of laundry for us, gratis! Rooms are a little small, but it’s fine as you’ll want to be out and about all day anyway. They gave us a fantastic intro when we arrived - all the places to go and what to see. Don’t miss the gelateria in town (called “Gelato” - yum! Best ice cream we had in CR). Also not to be missed is the Nauyaca waterfall in Dominical & the Altura Wildlife Sanctuary (great views & cocktails at the hotel bar there as well as super knowledgeable staff & lots of animals!). One thing to note about this property - you’ll need to bring most things with you, like: 1. Hairdryer 2. Shampoo, conditioner, soap 3. Coffee or tea (they have a coffee maker, but nothing to go in it) 4. Condiments (if you plan to cook) 5. Drinking water (would not advise drinking the tap water here) Overall, 4 stars!

We stayed 2 nights. The location is within walking distance from both the town centre and the national park area, but not adjacent to either. The room is nice and the pool is good, though we did get heavily attacked by mosquitoes when trying to use it. We were keen on a break from restaurant food so self-catered. There are cooking facilities but the kitchenette is very small so it was a bit tough. They did some laundry for us too, which was appreciated (though wasn't properly dried, which was a bit inconvenient). Friendly staff and overall a good place to stay
