We were on a short week-end in Cabuya de Montezuma and we stayed at the Howler Monkey Hotel. Jim was an outstanding host, he lended us bikes so that we could visit the area as i was thinking of moving permanently to Cabuya and had such short time to make up my mind. Our stay at his hotel definitely played...

This hotel is CR. I've seen nature like never before, from whales swimming by to 50 monkey tribes in the trees, birds, butterflies and a lot more. Jim is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. The hotel is off the main road which makes it quiet and restful. My cabina looks over the pool and then the beach. Kitchen,...

We stayed 2 nights and were delighted to have an ocean view from our bed and a well ventilated room with working fans. The owner Jim was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the area. We were the only people staying there! Got to love Green Season! We looked at 2 other places near by and this was by far the...

I am currently spending 12 months backpacking with my 8 year old twins and we just spent 10 wonderful days at the Howler Monkey Hotel. None of us wanted to leave and the kids asked me repeatedly on our bus to Montezuma could we go back. The cabins are a beautiful A-frame and the upstairs sleeping area is spacious and...

Jim is great company and leaves nothing to be desired. there are some small restaurants in walking distance - the one Jim recommended us is great. fresh wish with rice and beans for 5$. delicious!

We absolutely loved the place. It is quiet, clean and surrounded by nature. Our cabin had a great view of the ocean. Jim is a great host! He is a quiet and easy going guy, we enjoyed talking with him! He has some lovely dogs as well! There are kayaks, surfboards and bikes on property. Walking distance to Isla Cabuya...

The premises are very clean and well kept. We loved Jim's property as you can see the beach and hear the soothing ocean waves all day and night. We actually stayed at a neighboring home but wish we had stayed at his place instead. He generously let us use his Wi-Fi when ours was promised but not delivered and we...

Really enjoyed my time staying at The Howler Monkey in Cabuya, laying in the hammock and enjoying the thunder and lightning show. Enjoying listening to the frogs at night, even louder than the howler monkeys! This is a great place to stay in a quiet fishing village that still has a lot to see and do.
