We visited from 18/12/2016 until 01/01/2017. Marcine, the owner is absolutely wonderful. There is no way that you will receive this type of personalized service at an hotel. Definition of hospitality: Friendly & liberal reception of guests or strangers. That is what we experienced. We spent the first four days of our two week trip at Marcine's lovely home. 293 on Komba is definitely the best place to stay on Nosy Komba.

You will see the same things in this review that you see in all the reviews about 293 on Komba. The location is perfect, the host (Marcine) is amazing, the food is delicious, and so on. Marcine runs the guesthouse perfectly. She is a marvellous host. Clean, all amenities, excellent Food, perfect Location, interesting and safe Island. Nice Beaches and Marcine offers nice Outings. Can fully recommend

Marcine is a wonderful host & makes you feel completely at home. Her dinners were sublime & she introduces you to island life so that you almost feel like a local. The accommodation was incredibly comfortable & we never wanted to leave!

293 on Komba Guest House is located on the small island of Nosy Komba +- 20 minutes from Nosy Be off the mainland of Madagascar. Nosy Komba is a volcanic island southeast of the port, almost equidistant between Hell-Ville and Ankify on the mainland. The ideal getaway for couples looking for a much needed “Rejuvenation Vacation”! 293 on Komba Guest House offers' a private setting not far from the Village of Ampangorina, it is ideally situated only a few steps from the beach- a perfect beach holiday, where you only need your costume, sarong, hat, sunscreen and slops.293 on Komba Guest House offers a beautiful spacious home with four very comfortable en-suite bedrooms set on a beautiful bay, where you wake up to the sea lapping only a few steps away. Lemur bedroom- offers a double bed with bathroom en-suite and a separate entrance. This bedroom has a lovely sea view with its own private little patio.Tortoise bedroom - offers a double bed with a bathroom en-suite and a separate entrance, which over looks the small stream & garden.Chameleon bedroom - is upstairs in the main section of the house, has twin beds and a separate bathroom, this room has a lovely view of the stream and of the sea.Ylang -Ylang room – offer a double bed with bathroom en-suite. This room is private and separate from the house, with its own little terrace and the most stunning beach view. All the bedrooms are designed for comfort and relaxation, they are furnished with bedding and bath towels. The bathrooms offer showers only, but all do have hot water available.The home is serviced by SOLAR POWER for electricity and hot water. Therefore: NO ITEMS such as hair dryers or electrical items that are not "solar power" friendly! Please check with Management before plugging in any electrical equipment such as phones, computers, shavers and etc. Breakfast consists of local fresh fruits and other home produce is served daily. Dinner would include either fresh fish, prawns, Zebu (local cattle) Chicken or Duck, accompanied by the delicious Malagasy rice or fresh veggies / salads. Fruits of Madagascar or the delicious Madagascar chocolate will cater for the sweet tooth at the end of the meal. Room rates include breakfast & dinner. Lunch can be provided on request at a cost of +_ 10Euros per person. The menu options change daily depending on the availability of local produce and fresh seafood. What to do: - Besides spending your days lazing in the sun, catching up on all those books that you never get around too - The nearby village offers meals on the beach, with a variety of locally sourced Malagasy cuisine, including freshly prepared seafood, chicken, duck and Zebu, complemented with delicious Caiprihina's and the local Three Horses beer. In the village there are "restaurants" that offer meals and local drinks: Bar la plague, Chez Yolande, Chez Madam Madio, Le Cabagne & Sling bar. But, as is normal in small villages such as this - new bars / restaurants open and some close down all just depending on tourism. ... more   less
