We stayed at Monte Libano hostel for four nights and felt really warmheartedly welcome from the first moment. It's a local family-run hostel. Maria and Pedro, the owners, are very friendly and talkative. When we had a health emergency and needed to go to the doctor in the middle of the night, they called a taxi for us to get...

We stayed in the hostel for 3 nights, returning to sleep and having sometimes small tea and cookies on the terrace. Every apartment has its own bathroom with a shower. Private, clean, authentic, friendly employees and owners. A real nice place to lay in a hammock and enjoy the sounds of the night ocean. Thank you, Valentina, for the hospitality.

Hostal Monte Libano is wonderfully located at the beach in the southern part of Puerto Lopez, the hostel is clean, the rooms furnished nicely, the beds very good even in the dorm. The family lives there is well and is incredibly friendly and helpful. I stayed for 5 nights instead of 3 and felt like I was part of the...

Monte Libano is a 5 min walk from downtown Puerto Lopez which means you listen to waves rather than traffic as you fall asleep! The family were very welcoming of me; Maria chatted with me in the evening which was really nice. There are several areas to sit and relax or use wifi. The family dogs were very calm and...

Monte Libano is a Robinson Caruso-like hostal right on the beach south of the pier on a quiet and nearly finished section of the malecon. Our hostess, Valentina, served us a variety of nice breakfasts, left us the key to the kitchen for late night beers, gave us the run of the place on our last day as we waited...

We spent 4 beautiful days in Monete LIbano. The family that runs the hostel ist nice and helpfull. Puerto Lopez is not the nicest place ever, but is relaxed enough and very close to Machalilla and Los Frailles, a really beautifull beach!

Monte Libano was exactly what I was looking for to spend my last week in South America. The place itself it's right on the beach, a bit secluded from the main avenue and the malecón which made my stay even better.Despite what it looks like it's just few minutes walking to the fish market and the shopping streets. All the...

My family (with two young children) stayed at Monte Libano for a few months and really enjoyed our time there. It has the feel of a guest house, with a family-like environment. The owners are very accommodating and worked hard to resolve any issues that arose during our stay. For example, we asked them to install a rail on the...

This hostel offered a useful variety of room configurations. Hostess Maria is very accommodating and friendly. She provided recommendations for a restaurant and a boat tour provider both of which turned out spectacularly. Hostel is kid-friendly, across the road from the beach. Purified water is provided for cooking and refilling your water bottle. The kitchen is functional, if a little...

I really enjoyed my stay at Monte Libano. It is right on the beach and just a short walk to the main stretch along the beach but far enough so that it is nice and quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful and you can arrange tours through the hostel. Each bed had a mosquito net and there was...
