If you are someone who likes to nit pick over lack of Wi-Fi or uneven stairs, then perhaps a soulless place like a Holiday Inn would be more to your liking. Or, you can have the privilege of staying at Plas Llanmihangel and all that...More
Plas Llanmihangel is extraordinarily charming, as are its owners. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Roaring log fires welcomed us in the winter, whilst in the summer we sipped white wine in the late afternoon sunshine and enjoyed the beautiful...More
Our dinner was for twenty one people and it was in the old wood panelled dining room. The food was good. It was an old and interesting house but it felt tired and in need investment.

Yes Plas Llanmihangel has closed . It is so very sad as the owners Sue & David have health problems . Sue has Cancer and David has Dementia. They are still living in the mansion house but they have moved to a smaller part of the house. my husband and myself keep in touch with them . Two lovely people. We had both of our big birthday's with them , such wonderful hosts .Our friends still talk about our 2 occasions there even though it was 6 years ago for my husband and 3 years for myself. Sue is a wonderful cook and we had a pianist and an accordionist for background music. Quite a few of us stayed the night . Sue And David made the most beautiful breakfast the next morning for us all. Just lovely memories now for us , of two lovely people. It would be worth just a visit for you to see the place ,also there is a lovely quaint little church just opposite the mansion house. Enjoy your visit to Wales when you come and such a pity that you will miss a lovely place as this.
Best wishes from Cardiff
