We have stayed here before many years ago and it was nice to be back. We had a large family room. The bed was very comfy and the room lovely and clean. Breakfast was lovely and the locally sourced sausages were delicious. I love the fact that you can choose which items you want for your cooked breakfast, this on...

This is a great location for exploring the area. Situated opposite the jubilee bridge, it's ideal for walking the dog. We had the family room on the ground floor, which is their main dog-friendly room and it's ideal because it has a door directly to an enclosed yard at the back. Paula and Shaun were very welcoming and helpful and...

We arrived unexpectedly on a Sunday evening and Paula and Sean rallied to prepare a room for us. The room was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed chatting with Saun and Paula about where to eat and the local area. Breakfast was fabulous, it was a lovely stay, good value and we will definitely go back.

Fantastic guest house which comes highly recommended. Room was very clean and the full English Breakfast was lovely. Some nice walks around Matlock Bath recommended by the friendly owners. A good base for visiting Chatsworth House and Bakewell. Would definitely stay again if we returned to the area.

The hosts were wonderful, gracious and welcoming. They gave an excellent recommendation for dinner (Riva at Rose Cottage), a fantastic suggestion for a morning hike nearby, and were very knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast was very good and the rooms comfortable.

This delightful B&B is set right in the centre of Matlock Bath which means it is perfectly placed for exploring on foot. The current owners (Paula & Shaun) have been there since January and are doing a great job. We received a warm welcome from Paula who made some good recommendations for eating out later in the evening. We had...

I stayed here for one night to see the illuminations and could not have chosen better. Very central so I could pop back for my coat when it started raining. Lovely room and excellent breakfast. Thank you.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our house was built in 1847, is early Victorian, built in the Georgian style in the centre of the village of Matlock Bath which was developed as a spa. There are still some natural thermal springs and a petrifying well. There are four spacious en-suite rooms, three of which are family rooms. A cot is available. All rooms have access to wireless broadband, TV kettle etc. The house is situated immediately opposite the Victorian Jubilee bridge, which is a footbridge over the River Derwent. This bridge gives access to walks, an informal riverside park with childrens play area and attractive fountains and pools. There are walks up by the river and up the wooded hillside to extensive all-round views. Within walking distance are Gulliver's Kingdom (Childrens theme park), Cable Cars to Heights of Abraham, (where you can visit to old lead mines), the Museum and Aquarium with the petrifying well, the Mining Museum, and an assortment of restaurants and pubs with regular live music. Masson Mills (shopping village and museum in Arkwright's historic mill) is 10 minutes walk and there are many small, interesting shops both in Matlock Bath, and within nearby Matlock & Cromford. ... more   less
