Went to Hodgkinsons hotel for one night stay, on a Tuesday evening. On arrival, the check in was very efficient and friendly. We were shown to our room it was called the Callow, it was very clean and spacious. We stayed for evening meal and it was excellent. The wine was reasonably priced. Next morning breakfast was also excellent, with...

It was quirky and imperfect (in a good way) but maintained with a modern slant. Rooms were clean and everything was working as it should be. Also being next to the river with a lovely walk and stunning views on your doorstep. Hosts were friendly and extremely helpful suggesting other places to eat when we decided not to eat at...

Friendly welcome on arrival by the owners. We stayed for 1 night in 'Riber' on the top floor. Great views of Matlock Bath. The room was very, very clean and practically laid out. Amazing, huge and comfy bed for a great nights sleep. It's clear that a lot of thought has been given by the owners to make sure you...

Myself and my husband stayed here 18/3/17 for 1 night in the "Bretby" room. It was our 1st stay here and will definately not be our last. What a beautiful, quirky and well preserved hotel, I honestly do not have words in high enough praise for this establishment and it's owners. Rooms are spacious, warm and decorated in keeping with...

What can I say about Hodgkinsons, but perfect in every way!!! We arrived for the weekend at lunchtime on the Friday, and from the minute we crossed that old fashioned threshold, our weekend was amazing. The hotel is lovely, and all the old features have been retained, from the great big old doors and their HUGE original keys, the original fireplaces...

Visited Hodgkinsons hotel tonight, my meal was supurb! And good friendly service. Great quality food with a nice selection of wines. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Would recommend it to anyone visiting the Matlock Bath area.

Needed a Place to stay overnight as part of a weeks tour and to be honest anywhere in about a 5-10 mile radius would have done - However virtually by accident found this Hotel and the reviews were almost too good to be true - So I booked it. When we arrived I'm not sure it's somewhere I would have...

We visited the hotel for 2 nights and stopped in the room riber. The room was lovely and well furnished. The four poster bed was very comfortable and the hotel had such a great feel to it. We ate in the hotel restaurant and tried something new, if the kale and bacon bread pudding is on the menu when you...

Reasonably priced, our room was lovely! Bed was extremely comfortable! It's a very unique hotel- old fashioned decor but brought a lot of charm and character! The room has everything you could need. Breakfast was superb- one of the best I've had at any hotel.

Decided to visit Matlock Bath without really knowing what to expect but fortunately found this amazing little hotel and restaurant. Exceptionally clean and quirky in furnishings, it felt like a Victorian time capsule from the moment you entered through the front door. Every corner of the Hotel had small collections of the most unusual items and it also had it's...
