Excellent standard of accommodation, very spacious and clean. Friendly helpful hosts. Amazing views. Great local pub in walking distance-The Marine Bar. Highly recommend for large groups of family or friends.
Perfect property for a large family or friends group. Our group of 10 visited in June 2019 and there was plenty of space so we weren't on top of each other. Definite bonus with all bedrooms being en-suite. View is fantastic and the owner, Mealla was very welcoming and helpful. Location is perfect - short taxi ride into Dungarven which is a nice little town with plenty of places to eat or drink. If you need a taxi then I can recommend Maurice Fahey (087 0685390) who is amazing. He has a mini-bus, is very helpful and friendly and really excellent value. (this review is for the self-catering house overlooking Dungarven Bay - think some of the reviews on this thread are for a different B&B property??)
Seaview House was perfect for our family reunion and birthday celebration. To begin with, the view from the front is breathtaking. There are 9 bedrooms, all ensuite, and a kitchen that was fine for making nightly dinners for 15. It is located within a few kilometers of hiking trails, bike paths, historic sights and beaches. The price is quite reasonable. The beds are very comfortable, and the showers roomy. It was big enough and had enough separate areas that we were not tripping over each other. The owners live onsite, and let us take advantage of their garden. We'd go back in a heartbeat.
We were a group of 10 people away for a relaxing weekend! We booked seaview for the full weekend absolutely fab place! We were welcomed by the owner Mealla, lovely woman very warm and friendly ! Couldn't do enough for us! Rooms beautifully set out ,very spacious and clean. We had a ball! We rebooked for October!
We took 2 rooms at the Seaview a couple of weeks ago as there isn't much choice in Dungarvan and were very happy. A friendly welcome and big rooms. Although our bed seemed to be on wheels and moved a bit when we sat down but it just made us giggle! We didn't get to meet the lady of the house but she left a lovely note and told us to help ourselves to breakfast as we're on a very early ferry crossing. Def worth a visit 👍
This was a comfortable place to stay with the dogs. Given a large ground floor room with lots of floor space, however it was the back of the house so no views. View from the breakfast/lounge was beautiful. No dog-friendly lounge space but a nice place otherwise.
We stayed here for one night on our trek across Ireland. We were shown our rooms at arrival - not the warmest welcome but it was fine. Our rooms were on the back of the house so we didn't have the amazing view, but the sitting area at the top of the stairs was breathtaking to see all the way out to the sea and Dungarvan Village in the distance. Our breakfast was excellent - always more than enough. Our host was very visible in the morning and was attentive to all of the guests staying. Overall good experience.
We arrived on one of the hottest days of the year and were warmly welcomed. As it was late afternoon and we had not eaten since breakfast we were keen to shower and eat. After being shown our room, we turned on the shower - no hot water. I went down to enquire and was told to wait 7-10 mins and try again. Still cold. Another trip downstairs and told to wait another 10 mins. After half an hour we gave up, showered in cold water and went out to eat. The excuse given was that because it was a hot day, the heating had not come on to warm the water. Is this the only hot day they have ever had? If guests are arriving then it is reasonable to assume they will want hot water. There seemed to be a lack of organisation in the place. The warm welcome seemed to disappear as soon as we complained, in fact Martin actually turned his back and walked away while I was talking to him. Mealla, to be fair, did reduce the bill but I would avoid staying there again. Breakfast was not over large and I think we might have been punished for complaining by not being given tomatoes, which the other cooked breakfasts had. Thanks but no thanks even though the views are great…
Just back from a weekend stay in Dungarvan. Stayed, yet again, at the Seaview. Travel down annually for Comeragh Challenge Walk and have stayed here for the last three years. Really friendly B&B, very clean and a lovely breakfast served on both mornings. As we occupied most/all of the rooms on each Occassion breakfast was served at a time which suited us, a real bonus! Will definitely return!
Very nice home with picturesque views! Martin and his daughter were very welcoming. The views along with the warm hospitality, lovely breakfast made for a perfect stay. In addition a wonderful pub/restaurant is right down the street ask for Cora !!!
