Location is great and staff in the hotel were nice but the room itself was freezing as the heating wasn’t working! It was the coldest weekend of the year so far. We arrived late and headed out straight away so hadn’t noticed but when we went to bed the room was freezing. There was not enough bed clothes provided to keep warm And no mention from the staff when we checked in that there was an issue! Staff should have advised there was an issue with some rooms and if we need any heaters there would be some at reception! Instead we only heard of this when we were checking out! We did get a small discount off the room rate though I feel it wasn’t sufficient for the uncomfortable night sleep due to the cold temperature. Very disappointing overall
Food was Teriible .do not visit here if you are a vegetarian . Wasnt even anything on the menu had to ask . Sorry we did . For those in the group who were not vegetarian there food was cold when served . Will not be back
Lawlors is really very dated. The toilets down in the dungeon were terrible, made the place feel very seedy. The door halfway at the top of the stairs should probably be kept closed to keep tgstvroom hidden! The rooms were old apart from a very nice shower. The leaking gutters against the window sounded like the windows were being power washed all night. The lobby and bar area are not bad, the sellotaped lamp shade on the fireplace probably should be replaced .. breakfast was OK, a bit dry and over done. The location in the Town Centre is great. Overall a bit Fawlty Towers.
Disappointing stay here, for the price they are charging. Carpet filthy, really needs updating, rooms small and dreary, although bathrooms seems to have been done up. Bar food was OK. Main Toilets in hotel are probably the worst I've seen, dreadful. Breakfast terrible burnt up sausages, Breakfast room so depressing, set up awful. Won't be returning
Lawlors was such a lovely hotel especially Marie on the front desk. Central to everything clean and friendly hotel... Will stay for longer next time that will be my 3rf visit. Again thanks Marie great front of house lady... Connie
Return again and again. Have eaten here several times. The food is as it says on the menu. Beautifully cooked and presented. Very satisfying meal. Deserts are scrumptious, generous portions. The staff are excellent. highly recommended for couples and families
Dropped into Lawlors for dinner this evening. Not too busy thinking things would go smoothly. Honestly I think in missed a birthday waiting to put an order in and then getting the food. Serious improvement needed.
Booked a Mon/Tuesday night to do the Greenway and was surprised that most of the Restaurants in the town were closed Had lunch and dinner in Hotel which was good quality and good value Room unfortunately was dark, very “brown” and could do with an upgrade It was clean and bathroom was fine Staff were friendly and helpful at all times
Just back from an amazing weekend at Lawlors hotel. Every single staff member was so welcoming , kind and attentive. Nothing was a problem. We really felt at home in this hotel and we were treated so well. The food was gorgeous and our room was really comfortable. The manager Olive was so easy to deal with and helped me organise a great hen for my friend. The location was ideal as it was two minute walk from all pubs and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel for a trip away with friends.
Went for evening meal. Were given fabulous brown bread while waiting for order. Had 2 main courses - a steak and confit duck.. Steak was very good and the confit duck was exceptional - half a duck served with red cabbage and mash ad gravy. also given a large bowl of vegetables on the side. A very enjoyable meal.
