Lovely personable relaxing stay and very unusual to have a swimming pool en site too. The owner couldn't have been more helpful. Nice to hsve farm animals on the land too to check out. Great breakfast too. Very warm and cosy rooms
This is what I would call a 'proper guest house', before Air BnB changed the template. It's a fabulous house, very grand in its proportions, accommodating a full grand piano in one of the sitting rooms. All so tastefully decorated with many interesting paintings to gaze upon. The sitting area in the hall is a wonderful place to just chill and chat, particularly after the best breakfast you'll find just about anywhere in Ireland. I kid you not! The onsite swimming pool (and gym) is a treat.. and oh my goodness, let's just say, cold you won't be. Whooo... it's HOT! Considering the climate we're moving into, this is a treasure in itself. We stayed 2 nights on a horsey break, stabling the horses in Drumcoura and it was just fantastic. Patricia is a wonderful host and nothing is too much trouble. I'm going back... VERY soon.…
This place is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at. The Host Patricia was amazing, she made me and my Father feel at home and even let us use the dining room for meals in the evening. The building and facilities are breathtakingly beautiful and every corner of this elegant building brought a huge smile to my face. Our room was immaculate and stunning, the view was stunning. The area was steeped in beautiful Irish charm and we were permitted to use the marina to moor my Dad and friend Henry’s Small Inflatable Boat “SIB” for the duration of our stay. This is a place that is more than tranquil, it is a setting that will quite honestly blow your mind! The breakfast was amazing with the full Irish, copious amounts of wheaten bread, toast, fruit, cereal and most requests can be catered for. Thank you for your amazing hospitality and letting us experience this superb property.…
We had a lovely time there in September. Patricia was a lovely host. There's a nice area away from the noise of the city. We had comfy beds (not too hard, not too soft mattresses) and it was nice and warm (we were pleasantly surprised with warm radiators on our arrival). The games room had Monopoly there and several other games. There's heated swimming pool (our 5yo loved it!), gym, sauna and squash room. Plenty of parking space onsite and a Wild West Saloon with mouth watering food just 2 minutes drive away.
We stayed two nights at Rivesrsdale on the way to Westport. Our little dog was with us and we stayed in the older part of the main house which is absolutely marvellous. Large double staircase, two large sitting areas with games for kids and a grand piano. Welcomed by Ella and later Patricia and the service and friendliness for the entire stay was outstanding. Aine served breakfast with a smile and the food was outstanding. The grounds of the B and B are so scenic. We had cows in a field as our view with a canal lock in the distance. You can walk into town via the canal path which took 40 minutes or by the road which was 25-30. Great place to stay as a base for a fishing trip, a relaxing retreat or travelling through. Probably the most restful two days I have had in a long while. Highly recommend.…
Fantastic experience. Warm welcome to a traditional farm setting in scenic Leitrim. Breakfast was delicious and every aspect of our stay was great. A short spin to Ballinamore for dinner and also close to Drumshanbo and Carrick-on-shannon. The pool, board games and farm animals were a hit with our kids. Great value for money. We would highly recommend Riversdale and will definitely return.
Travelled with 2 small kids. Such a warm welcome when we arrived along with a tour, Patricia and the girls were lovely. Room was spacious, warm and cozy. Beds very comfortable and plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was delicious, so much choice. Pool and animals were an added bonus the kids were in their element. Absolutely fantastic stay felt so at home. Will definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful time here from start to finish. This 120 yr old house is beautiful and has the most welcoming hostess Patricia with all equally friendly staff. It is so cosy and the breakfast is superb, with pancakes for the children and farm animals out the back. It is really more like a hotel with its heated swimming pool and gym area. Definitely a great staycation - will be back.
Our main point why we booked riversdale farm b&b was the indoor pool but after 3 nights here our highlight is the staff. Unlike a hotel the owner and staff knew our first name from the minute we arrived and couldn't do enough for us. The room was quiet big with a huge king size bed which was so comfortable. We always take our own pillows when staying away from home as the hotel pillows are too soft and dont give much support. But the pillows in riversdale were perfect :) and we had a great view onto the front of the house with sheep and new born lambs. breakfast gives a selection of cereals, fruitsalds, yogurts and off course a great irish fry.
My Family stayed here over the mid term, We had the best time. The weather may have helped for all the beautiful walks we did, this Guesthouse was so welcoming to all our family , the little ones in our group felt at home and were treated like extended Family. Best Breakfast in Ireland , Brown Bread I could eat till the cows come home. I really want Riversdale to be our little secret but it would be wrong not to share this lovely Guesthouse with other Families. And yes we will be returning again and again.Clean and warm , thanks to all the lovely staff and Family that run this fantastic gem in lovely Ballinamore.
