I felt as though I was staying with family. The fireplace was inviting and a cup of tea and snack was always available. Breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend a stop here if coming to the wonderful little town.
If you are staying in or near beautiful Ballinamore Leitrim, we would highly recommend staying at Hammil’s B&B, located right in town and walking distance to everything. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The morning breakfast is delicious. Damian and Bernadette will treat you like family. Best place we stayed in our 2 weeks visiting Ireland!
Stayed two nights in Ballinamore for a family reunion and couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. The room was very comfortable ( including beds) and hosts were very friendly. It is located in center of town and very walkable to pubs/restaurants. We arrived back one afternoon and Bernadette immediately brought up a pot of tea to the upstairs sitting room which was much appreciated by our group. There was a nice cozy fire in sitting room downstairs that guests also took advantage of that damp chilly day. They provided a full Irish breakfast in the morning which was delicious. Definitely would highly recommend this place to stay when visiting Ballinamore!
I’m traveling with 6 members of my family and had nothing to do with the places chosen for us to stay. I can easily say the Hamills’ was the highlight of our visit home to Ireland! The place was immaculately clean, every corner on the floor, picture frames, light fixtures had no dust! The minute you open the front door you smell “CLEAN”, when you walk into any bathroom you can tell they have been scrubbed & sanitized. The entire place is GREAT! The breakfast was delicious, and filling without being a weight in your stomach. Their brown bread & boxti was the best I’ve had in Ireland so far on this trip and brought back wonderful memories of my grandmother making these same delicacies for me as a child, I forgot how good they can be! My take on their price is that it is below reasonable, I’ve spent double to stay at hotels that were no where near as clean and where the level of service was questionable at best. This was an amazing place to spend time in a clean, comfortable and low price manner while visiting cousins in the surrounding town. Book here, you won’t be disappointed!…
Long weekend stay with family. Lovely welcome from both Damien and Bernadette both were the perfect hosts. Our room was comfortable and clean. The location was great for exploring, within short distance from Carrick-upon-Shannon and Drumshanbo gin distillery ( a must visit) with ample parking. Breakfast was outstanding. We will definitely recommend a stay and will be returning! Thanks for a fabulous stay.
We stayed at Here for 3 nights. We were blown away by the friendly family service. The breakfasts took me back to when I was at my grandmas house years ago. Beautiful b & b clean and pleasant could not do enough for you would highly recommend and will go back one day.
Wonderful place! We really enjoyed staying in Hamill's B&B. Very warm and cozy. Very clean. The rooms are very comfortable. Ideal place to relax. Perfect location. Tasty breakfasts and aromatic coffee. Highly recommended!
Stayed for a couple of days in February/march and could not have had a better Irish welcome!!.....Damien was extremely attentive, informative and helpful whenever asked for anything. The room was ideal and facilities just what we needed. Superb traditional breakfast struggled to eat or drink for rest of day!!..... Located just off the main street but in quiet position with easy parking. Will definitely stay there again when I revisit relatives in future. Thanks again!!
Highly recommend this B&B! In a perfect location tucked away from the main street with parking and yet still quiet and relaxing. The Irish breakfast was superb and the room I stayed in was very comfortable and spacious. There was a friendly and welcoming atmosphere from the owners. I would definitely book again.
My sister and I had our booking transferred from the Commercial and Tourist hotel which is literally just over the road, because they had to close due to a family bereavement. We were visiting Ballinamore just for a couple of nights to fulfil our late brothers wishes of scattering his ashes in the place he loved to visit every year with friends for fishing and Guinness. Hamill’s b&b is hidden up a driveway off the main road of Ballinamore. Because our booking was changed last minute we had no idea what to expect and was a little apprehensive. Well all I can say is Hamill’s is a hidden gem! After a long journey, Damien greeted us with a friendly welcome and showed us our room, which was lovely. He then bought us a tray with a much needed pot of tea and chocolate treat bars. He recommended places to eat and drink and offered to take us the next day to where our brother would go fishing so we could scatter his ashes. Honestly nothing is too much trouble for this hotelier. The communal sitting room and breakfast room were just lovely, very inviting and homely. Breakfast consisted of various fruit juices and cereals, fruit and yoghurts, specialty teas and coffee, a full Irish breakfast, toast and bread, jams and marmalade. There was also a choice to change your breakfast to kippers etc if staying longer than one night. I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough. If you are lucky enough to visit this beautiful part of Ireland, then a stay here would, I’m sure make your trip perfect, as it did for us. We do hope to return to Ballinamore and to Hamill’s B&B in the not too distant future.…
