Having read some of the newer reviews I was nervous about our stay. This review relates to my Bella Italia experience which was very good. Our stay last week of August 2022.

This campsite is massive, over 1000 pitches most accommodated by families of 4 to 6. This place is bigger and busier than most small towns so yes there are times when you will have to que but staff are quick.

I found the staff to be excellent and super polite at all times in all areas of the campsite.

Yes at 9am there were people waiting to get their favorite loungers at the pool, but there would be around 20 to 30 people per gate but to put it in to perspective there are many hundreds of loungers. We would arrive at 1 min to 9am and get a great spot every day. All the loungers were taken by 10am but also they did rotate so there is opportunity throughout the day to get a lounger. Tip loungers are well uncomfortable if I went again I would take an inflatable lounger mat.

Also at 10am each day the pool staff did walk around removing towels put there by people that just hogged the lounger for later when they wanted to arrive. Also if you point out to the pool staff loungers that have towels on but just being hogged they will remove the towels for you. Fantastic well done.

One of the swimming pools you need a swimming hat to get in, this is great its a deeper pool where inflatables are not allowed.

Food in all eateries was very good, be mindful that there is a small wait when ordering take away pizzas, crazy busy but staff do pump them out in good time.

Fresh vegetables and fruit are very expensive. examples £6.40 for 5 nectarines, £4.50 a single avocado, £5.50 a single mango ect just be prepared prices are high for fresh goods. £4.50 a pint £8 a cocktail, standard. There is a local Lidl but its no cheaper.

Very quiet at night everything closes by 11pm, be ready for screaming babies by 730am most mornings, take earplugs if you want a lie in.

Check in is busy because there are lots of people to check in.

We stayed with Eurocamp we paid £1800 for 8 days, our accommodation was filthy, very tired and old (rusty broken heaters, soiled pillows and bedding, filthy showers, no resolution offered by eurocamp staff we spent several hrs cleaning on arrival.) Accommodation opposite was run by Bella Italia and the family in there paid £800 for 11 days, their cabin was new and immaculate with TV and coffee machine.

Save £1000 and book direct. Also Eurocamp charge £100 for linen and told us that you could not get linen on site. Talking to another couple they paid £40 when they arrived for linen without booking it. Again another £60 saving if you get your linen from Bella Italia on site.

Its £60 for a taxi to Verona but we found another couple and shared the taxi so paid £40 each.

Bus from Verona to the campsite was very simple £4 each

Would I go back? Yes but i would book direct for a massive saving.

We stayed in a basic static home by Human Travel. Human Travel were excellent and the caravan was new, very clean and had great air con. The basic ones are positioned very close together but I don’t think this is the case with the bigger caravans.
I’ll start with the good points.. Location is excellent you can walk to the lake and the nearby town. The choice of restaurants on site is good and there a lots of activities for kids to get involved in. Our girls loved the trampolining and “ “ Go ape “ type climbing frame .
The site is well maintained and the staff clearly work very hard. We absolutely loved the restaurant which is at the top of the site. I can’t remember the name but it’s a yellow fronted building. We ended up going there three times.
The super market is well stocked with plenty of selection. The pool slides were enjoyed by our daughters age 9 and 12.
Negative points.. The scram for sun loungers every morning at 9am is dangerous. People queuing up and then surging forward as soon as the gates are opened. One lady and her child in a push chair almost got knocked over. She was visibly shaken up and upset. People just seem
Happy to knock and barge you out of the way.
The lifeguards say that they will remove towels after 30 minutes. However this was not the case. I saw rows and rows of sun loungers that were not occupied. Bella Italia either need to control this or get more sun loungers!
We found a Sandy fake beach by the pool where you could pay 5 euros for two sun beds and an umbrella. We just did this every day as it was easier. However even with those ones you have to be up and in the queue by 9AM.
The toilets by the pool are disgusting, dark and dingy . Someone had defecated all down the stairs leading to the toilet block and to my surprise ( or not ! ) there was a steaming great turd surrounded by a yellow hazard sign. It took them at least 20 minutes to come and clean it all up. Feel sorry for whoever did.
All in all this is a good site BUT a I got the feeling that it was over booked as there was queues for pretty much anything. I get that it was peak season but it felt like peak season times about a thousand. I guess no surprise after the last two years of no holidays!

We booked an apartment IBISCO was fine however very far from reception and not one to assist with luggage, the complex is that big there should be some organization for assist4ing with luggage. Room was fine however the first few nights we had a huge amount of flies called reception at 9pm who was very rude and advised there was no maintenance staff on at night for a complex that big there should be someone to assist 24 hours. Security arrived with fly spray and we were told that was all they could do the apartment next to us had same complaint and they had a cleaner come down and do a deep clean we however got nothing and when raised was told sorry and that was it! Something needs to be done about the pool beds there is so much trouble in the mornings it makes the whole experience unenjoyable people literally standing on people to get a bed when gates open at 9am and no staff or security on hand to manage it. babies being pushed away from parents it was really scary again when raised was advised this was the way it was. The staff is the Costa Riga bar was so rude notice says bar closes at 11pm we would go some days at 2215 to try get a drink to be told we are closed you had to fight with them somedays to get a drink and then they would all stand and stare for you to finish, very uncomfortable.

Plenty for the kids to do and lots of different activities. The main town Peschira was beautiful and great access to train to Venice, Milan etc.

We enjoyed our trip just some of the issues above really let the place down.

Pool beds needs to be resolved and staff need more customer service training.

We stayed at the Bella Italia apartments within Camping Bella Italia for one week from 13th-20th August 2022. The holiday complex is huge and split into 3 sections, camping, caravans and apartments. Cons: Check in was a nightmare we arrived after a 2 hour flight and 45 minute transfer at 5pm and then had to queue for 45 minutes in the hot sun to get our key to one of the Orlando apartments. You have to pay 100 euro deposit on arrival but they will only accept cash which you get back at the end when you have no use for it and only if you keep the receipt and return the remote control. We then had to find the apartment which was situated right at the back end of the complex so took a further 30 minutes pulling heavy suitcases. The apartment was very basic and in a state of disrepair and had a broken toilet that made a ‘trickling’ noise all night that kept us awake. The sink was blocked the whole time we were there. The outside lights were broken and the front door was actually coming out of its frame. The next morning we decided to go to the supermarket to get some supplies. It was miles away from our apartment and on arrival the queue was so big it wasn’t worth our while to queue in the hot sun again! We survived for two days on water and snacks bought from the various bars on the complex. Towels were changed once during our stay and we were given 2 toilet rolls to last a week. We could have gone to reception for more but it was too far away and too long to stand in the queue again! To get sun loungers in the morning you have to queue from 8.30am and wait for the gate to open at 9am. Many families would queue jump or hide in the bushes and then push their way in once the gate is opened. Lots of pushing and shoving ensues. Pros: The complex has amazing swimming pools and amazing water slides and more entertainment than you know what to do with. Our kids loved it. There are restaurants and bars onsite, pool bars and souvenir shops. Lots of different sports, activities, trampolines, rides, daily entertainment round the pool, mini disco etc. just be prepared to walk the place is huge!! The location of Bella Italia is perfect. We left the complex every evening and did the short 20 minute walk along Lake Garda to the local town of Pescheria Del Garda. The views are breathtaking and the restaurants and bars are beautiful and the food is out of this world. There is a train station about 40 minutes on foot from the complex which we walked to twice with a 5 year old. We did a day trip as a family of 5 to Venice which was spectacular and a day trip to Milan which was incredible . We had the most amazing holiday and got a real sense of Italy. We loved it so much we will be returning next year though we will find a different hotel to stay in based in the same area. Overall we had a great holiday and Italy stole our hearts.

Our family of 5 with teens greatly anticipated our stay booked through Eurocamp pre covid. The location is great with direct access to the lake and surrounding vineyards of Valpolicella and Verona city.
The site is huge, massively & uncomfortably busy. The pool complex was woefully inadequate and we settled on the lake which was great for paddle boarding and renting a power boat.
The site is clean although rubbish is collected noisily from 6:30 am!! Facilities were clean and well maintained so showering etc was good.
We were crammed in with less than 4 feet between pitches and no car parking by our mobile home. Not an issue really but for the fact everybody tried to park next to their pitches which caused significant ‘traffic’ throughout the site. Many drivers exceeding the 10km/hr speed limit and parking in no parking zones, none of which were enforced. Food quality at the ‘restaurants’ was poor although the gelato was ace! The shop was too small but reasonably well stocked. Good local supermarkets were nearby!
The site needs to adopt a Center Parcs style approach where cars can only get on site to load/offload etc and then park away from pedestrians
We enjoyed our holiday and highly recommend the opera in Verona ( book before you go and get the best seats you can afford!) a self drive boat rental on the lake and a wine tour!! We would not return to this site and feel we may have outgrown Eurocamp too as the homes are tired not very clean and less customer focused than ever.

We stayed at Bella Italia through Tui for 2 weeks in May and had so much fun that as soon as we got home, we rushed to book again.
Yes, this resort does get busy in the high season, so my tip is to plan a holiday just before the busy times and you'll have no issues at all. It's a bit silly to complain about long queues at the pool and market if you chose to stay when it's the busy period.

Also, you do need to walk from reception to your accommodation but we were fine with 2 Senior citizens and a small child. Again, if you expect to be waited on hand and foot, pay luxury prices at a resort that actually bills itself as luxury.
The good at the restaurants was great and they paid attention to our small child, and the same with the market and souvenir shops. Remember, there are other nationalities staying as well, so the staff may not be totally fluent in English as you're in Italy!! And honestly, the only issues we saw involved drunken British guests and the security guards were on top of things right away.

Take a walk around the lake and enjoy the small cafes and eateries but remember, they may not be playing your favourite football team match on the TV or speak fluent English, because again, you're in Italy!!

A special mention to the hardworking staff that work in reception, maintenance and the entertainment team. They were a wealth of knowledge and kept the site clean, helped us book attraction tickets and made sure to include our shy child and other hesitant children so fun was had by all - we still sing the Bella Italia song at home every day!

All in all, we had a blast. Tui were just a phone call away, and any issues were promptly dealt with. Prepare for a wait if you book during the busy period, but if you can, stay in the off season and you'll have a really good time (and the pool will still be warm too.)

See you next year Bella Italia!

We have just got back from Camping Bella Italia and have had a fantastic time. We stayed in one of the bungalows and it was a great base to explore and have fun in a nice quiet part of the site. Camping Bella Italia is in a perfect location as it has direct access to the lake with a shingle beach, and an easy and picturesque walk to Peschiera city as well, although there is a land train which runs every day and well into the night for a few euros which was an added bonus. The site is large and busy but has a wonderful family atmosphere, there were some queues early in the morning for the bakery but they didn't take long and the produce was excellent. My child has a dairy allergy and the supermarket is well stocked and has a few different types of plant based milks and long life yoghurt and we even found dairy-free ice-cream which was lovely for all of us. The pool and playgrounds were excellent and lots of fun, the only criticism I have is the sunbed reserving which was extreme although I would say this was not a fault of the site just the customer. The restaurants were very nice with a good selection of food and friendly service and the reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. Overall it was an excellent holiday and wonderful place to stay. We will definitely be back soon!

We stayed in a bungalow on this site for 10 days. It is in a beautiful location with views across lake Garda to the mountains. The site has lots of facilities from restaurants to take aways which serve a variety of food. It also has a green grocers and a mini supermarket. There are minimum limits on using contactless and credit cards of 10 Euros, which I thought was a bit bizarre during a pandemic as it meant a lot of cash was still used and passed around.

The lake side restaurant was lovely and the food good. Be advised to book if you want a terrace table with a view.

The site was also peaceful at night times.

You could easily stay on the site and not leave but then you would miss out on the beauty of the surrounding area and the local town Peschiera, which offers some great boutique shopping and plenty of restaurants. Plus some nice scenery. Only a short walk but you can get a train bus if you want to for a few euros.

Even during the pandemic we found the site a little busy and due to a reduced capacity pool, frequently found that all the loungers were taken unless you queue up at opening time. The lake however, has all the space you need, although you might have to get creative. For instance we hired a pedals for two hours and used that for a while and then on another day took a boat out on the lake. Swimming in the lake is absolutely beautiful. But be careful if you are walking into the lake in the south region because of uneven and rocky lake bed which stays shallow for a while. In the north region it gets deeper quite close to the bank.

The bungalow was great for a family of five and ours had a microwave and hob , sofa bed, table and chairs. In terms of maintenance response we found a delay of a few days from the site when responding to our request about the table chairs being loose - they all needed tightening with an hex allen key, quite simple and a screw was missing from the base of one.

The stay would have been absolutely perfect except but one thing which seemed to fall on deaf ears, and we were told by the representatives that they hear the complaint frequently and were still getting complaints from others whilst we were there, but “nothing” could be done by the site......This may not be an issue for you but for me it was. The air conditioning beeped a few times loudly every time it turned on and off. Not an issue in the day but in the night it happened frequently and sounded just like my alarm clock! (Arghhh!) the only option to avoid this was to turn it off during the night, which defeats the object. I am sure the piezoelectric beeper could be soldered out?

On the subject of the air conditioning unfortunately the on/off controller unit for this was in the main corridor opposite a mirror and required a plastic smart card to be kept inserted “sticking out”. We scrapped our shoulders painfully on this quite frequently and ended up putting a plastic bag over it to prevent further injury. Who decided on that position?!?!?!

All the above considered it was a lovely stay and the site clean and tidy - with no litter.

It is the most expensive campsite we’ve ever stayed in with our motor home, even with the seniors’ discount, but it offers much more than the average, especially for families with young children. There are several pools (which include a children’s play area), children’s entertainment, a restaurant/ bar, takeaway facility, the best stocked supermarket I’ve ever seen in a holiday park, and the amenities are modern and maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness. However, for a more mature couple such as ourselves who wouldn’t take advantage of all that is on offer, it isn’t a cheap option. Nonetheless, being right on Lake Garda, the location is excellent and it’s an easy 15 minute walk into the town along the lakeside. From the town, you can catch a ferry to other townships on the lake. (A great option is a day ticket which gives you the opportunity to visit three other townships, with approximately 1.5 hours in each to explore. Very good value at just over €20 per adult). Verona is just 20 minutes on the train from town. Hence, the site is an excellent choice for sightseeing in the area. We couldn’t give the site anything less than 5 stars because of its facilities, but if you’re touring in your RV, be prepared for a significant increase in the cost you’ve been paying elsewhere. However, we really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in the apartments and this was the worst place I have ever stayed (and that is saying something!) The room my 2 year old daughter was staying in was unsafe as she could have opened the door/ window which leads to outside with a 15ft drop behind it as there was no way of locking it. The same with the door to the balcony, not lockable so easily opened. We had to barricade the doors closed just so that we felt that she would be safe. The rooms were grubby with broken plug sockets (again a health hazard) and an ant problem. The kitchen did not have all of the utensils to actually cook a meal and the microwave was mounted nowhere near a plug so you couldnt even plug it in. The only saving grace was the pizza place onsite which did a takeaway.
The walk into Peschiera is long and it is a very long walk to the train station (unlike one review I read which said it was 5 minutes away). The pools were freezing cold and grotty. The staff always seemed like you were troubling them by asking general questions. Never have I left a holiday handing over a lost of things wrong with a place. Avoid this place like the plague!!
