We just left after an extraordinary week at Castello di Casole. Everything was magical - from the gorgeous grounds, to the breathtaking dinner service on the terrace overlooking the Tuscan hills at sunset, to the impeccable rooms, infinity pool and overall ambiance of the resort. The service and meals were first class. Castello di Casole is the best resort in Tuscany!
We travelled from the crushed busy roads of the Amalfi coast up to this hotel and "oh my" .... Everything about the hotel is wonderful - from the drive up to the main door and the welcome you get to the rooms, pool and that view.... We were meant to stay here for 2 nights and then head on up to Portofino to the Splendido. I can't believe we did this (we've been to the Splendido) but we actually decided to stay on here and cancel the hotel in Portofino. The whole place was so tranquil that we just couldn't leave! We were in an Oliveto Suite (the furthest one away - which was the only exercise we got) which are set away from the main hotel. It was massive with a large sitting area, a wonderful bedroom and a very large bathroom. We would have had a slightly better view if we'd been in one of the higher ones but to be honest we weren't there much. The pool is large and cool and quiet with great drink service. The restaurant near the pool actually sprays you with a mist of cool water and the food is wonderful from fresh salads to pizzas. The service was obsolutely fantastic - some of the best we've had. The meals were great and we had some lovely wine lessons! Overall an absolutely fantastic hotel - however I'm glad we left when we did as it was the beginning of August and quite a few kids arrived .... We'll be back - just not in August!…
A wonderful relaxing destination with staff that make you feel welcomed and that nothing is too difficult.. highly recommend. Federiko in the ristorante, Ignazio the sommilier, Alessandro the pasta chef and Alessio the bar manager and cocktail wizard, all tremendously professional and warm people.
Belmond are always at the top of the market (and to be honest the prices this year are a bit over the top - about 50% up on last year) but the product and the service is amazing. This hotel has got to be at the top of what you can get in exclusivity, great and attentive service (without being in your face or overbearing), beautiful rooms and gardens, and excellent food (better than last year by far). So it gets all my thumbs up. One note is that with pricing that starts at 1750 EUR a night (and about 2300 EUR for the next category), I suspect that even the inveterate lovers of Belmond and top end luxury will be thinking whether chartering a boat with a crew to serve you gives another experience and not that different in cost. Certainly if for more than a couple of nights.
What an incredible hotel. We hired a car from Florence and after an hours drive (that is pretty straight forward) we arrived to this amazing hotel. After a drink and cold towel we had lunch by the pool as we was a bit early and our room wasn’t ready. We stayed 4 nights in a Junior suite (V05) which was very spacious and had a beautiful view out over The Valley on the car park side. The staff at this hotel are probably the best we have experienced in a European hotel. As English guests at no point did we face any language barriers and staff from the bottom up were all clearly trained to an extremely good standard. From arrival we were made to feel very at home with my partners GF preference being remembered and our preferences throughout the stay were also remembered, always being greeted by name. We ate at Tosca the first evening and the food was extremely good. It was the only night we ate there for dinner but if we had a longer stay we definitely would of revisited. We had lunch daily by the pool which had a good mix of options to pick from and was all very tasty. Breakfast was very good and I often find is a let down at most hotels. They offer food to order (which I love opposed to a big buffet and egg station). They do have a smaller buffet which I think works really well. Gluten free options were good for my partner (Gf pancakes especially-just ask for them). The GF toast/bread is the one thing I think they could improve on as it’s bought in and not made by them and the quality isn’t great. The fresh honey from their bee’s is great as well as the best omelettes I’ve ever had! Concierge at this hotel are amazing. We spoke to I think Jessica who was incredible. Always smiling, very happy to talk you through everything and organise exactly what you want! Our 3 dinners out were amazing and we was given maps to each location and talked through what is good to see and eat in each! All within 30mins so nice to do. We also booked a painting class with Linda. It was so much fun and she is so nice! Something different. I also hired a bike and had a tour with Ingo which again was amazing! Exploring with the complimentary E-bikes was also very fun, even if I did get a little bit lost with some “private no entry signs” being a bit misleading! The pool is beautiful and has stunning views with pool attendants happy to bring you drinks. The local organic beer is a must! We love that the hotel uses local ingredients as much as possible. We didn’t want to leave and wished our stay was longer!…
This Italian hotel sits upon a hilltop overlooking beautiful Tuscan landscape. Drive up between Italian cypress trees. Elegant dreamlike atmosphere. Beautiful views of the hills of Tuscany. Flowers everywhere. Exceptional beauty. Peaceful, quiet, lovely,
We only stayed for two nights and if I could live here, I would! The location is just superb — a little isolated but close enough drive to nearby hill towns — with sweeping views of the Tuscan countryside. Highly recommend booking dinner at Tosca so you can watch the sunset over the hills. And Tosca was one of the best meals we had after nearly two weeks traveling through Italy. The staff went above and beyond on every request. The pool was just amazing with staff there to attend to your every need. We booked the most basic room they had, yet it felt like a palace. If you’re looking for a gorgeous place to unwind where all of your cares could be taken care of by someone else, this is it. The ultimate in luxury!
We had a wonderful stay in late June. It really is a unique and special place that my family will always have fond memories of. Excellent service from arrival to departure. Rooms are spacious with huge bathrooms. Pool is in a perfect spot with a great view. Not inexpensive however when you take into account the quality of what is provided it is definitely worth it - would love to return someday!
Castello di Casole was a dream. The hotel is so beautiful and is situated in such a perfect location. The view was fantastic every morning - we couldn't get enough. Tosca is delicious and the staff is great. Overall, a great experience and a MUST for anyone looking to visit the region!
When we were finally 'aloud' to check in by the overly officious lady on the desk the stay was lovely and magnificent. The bars and restaurants were lovely as was the food. The staff (apart from check in) were great and looked after us brilliantly. But, you would expect this of such a brand.
