Annalisa was very helpful and had some great suggestions for dinner during our two night stay in Montalcino. The room was great on the first floor and so unique. Breakfast (which was traditional Italian breakfast food, think pastries and cheese, meats) was brought to our room each morning as it was too chilly for us to want to eat outside....

Right in the heart of Montalcino - walkable to shops and restaurants. Parking available. The room had a lot of charm and was very clean. The breakfast was delicious! Wish we stayed longer. Highly recommend!

Not knowing the Tuscany area wasn't sure where to base ourselves to see Southern Tuscany and a bit of Umbria. Turns out I picked the best town, Montalcino. The B&B was authentic and charming with brick high ceiling and stone walls. Our host Dida was incredible, so friendly and accommodating, recommended great restaurants and made reservations for us. She even...

This bed and breakfast is a dream with its views and the owner's skilled care and attention to all of the details, both in our quiet bedroom and in the garden terrace directly outside where we enjoyed our breakfast. A short walk took us up the hill to one of the most beautiful towns in Tuscany, where we had a...

Annalisa, the owner is helpful, spirited and knowledgeable. She recommends wineries and is willing to make reservations for you. We've been there twice now, and hope to return. Great breakfast, more than just your typical "sweets" found in Italy.

We were two Canadian couples traveling through Italy for 3 weeks and booked this B&B in Montalcino for 2 nights.Getting there was a little bit of a challenge maneuvering through small streets but is in a great location. When we arrived we were greeted by Dida and she was absolutely wonderful. She made us feel at home and provided great...

We stayed here for 3 nights during our stay in Montalcino. We have always stayed at Hotel Di Capitani, but decided to try something else. We did not regret! Porta Castellana is a nice property with a beautiful garden. The breakfast is served outside and you have your private table in the garden. The rooms are very nice and spacious,...

Well what can I say... Absolutely the best place we've stayed in Tuscany thus far. Dida the owner is the most amazing lady you'll meet and her place is clean, comfy, romantic, and simply breathtaking. She helped us with all best places to visit in the region. Only wish we had stayed longer. Not to be missed if you are...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This house, with its massive stone walls, is situated in the north-eastern area of Montalcino, ancient city in the heart of Val d'Orcia (Orcia valley) also known as "Crete Senesi" (Sienese clays). From here it's possible to have one of the best views of Val d'Orcia: San Quirico d'Orcia, Pienza and, during the clearest mornings, Montepulciano. This abode is part of one of the most important buildings of Montalcino's history, which used to be the city's mill.
