The room was cleaned every day, and new towels aswell. But bed is made poorly, and cleaning seems rushed aswell. No extra effort for a tidy nice welcome back to the room, just the bare minimum even we tipped the really nice ladies that cleaned for us, almost every day. The best gesture of the cleaning was one day we had forgot to put the cap on the toothpaste, and it was placed ontop of my shaving blade as a joke. It put a smile on my face, but then i remembered a 4 star hotel in Egypt we visited. There was a new animal folded with the towels every day on the bed and spotless every day. All though, very nice ladies and very friendly. Just seemes like they had a too tight scedule to obtain exeptional results. One thing i have to mention is the exeptional human beeing you are very lucky to have in your staff, the head of the spa area. I think his name is Babis. I might be wrong.. He really knows his stuff. Professional, kind and always with a genuine smile on his face, calm, but in control. I guenually think he would fold towel monkeys and place them climbing a towel tree he made, if he was hired in the cleaning service. Exeptional, inspiring guy i will remember and take after in my life. The nice ladies doing treatments were also of the same kind, and they backed it up with the expectation of the calm quality massage treatments i read about in the brocure. Top people and top quality 6/5 for the spa and their skills. One other guy that made the stay special was the wine specialist. He knows his stuff, and you can tell his just as intrested in the people his serving to as the wines he truly loves. A true Gent that backs his profession with amazing people skills. The reseption was always really helpful and the drink servers always had a genuine, enlightening smile that only the ears got in the way for at times, if that paints a picture. Top notch! You guys know who to hire for each spesefic job, Overall a really nice stay I will recomend to friends and family headed your way. Thank you! Kind regards

We stayed at Minoa Palace Resort twice during our week away. For one night at the beginning of the week and one night at the end. For the first night we had an imperial Seaview with pool room and at the end we had an executive suite in the main building. The first room was incredible. Although not specifically wheelchair accessible I was able to get around with a little help and the location was perfect. The room felt fresh and the welcome gifts were a wonderful bonus. Had we only stayed in this room the rating would have been 5/5. By comparison the suite in the main building was very disappointing in comparison. Although it was huge it smelt of damp and was in need of a refurb. Wallpaper in the toilet was coming off the walls and a balcony light was hanging off the wall .There was also an unpleasant smell on the balcony. It did not match our fabulous experience of the first night. Having said that the resort itself is wonderful. There are ramps everywhere (although a couple were a little too steep) overall it is easier to navigate the whole resort. The pools were huge but unheated. I didn't check for pool hoists or chairs as I was not going in but they did have roman steps. Platanias itself is fairly accessible with ramps into most businesses, resuturants and pavements. However you might need to plan your route as again some of these can be steep, In comparison to Rethymno, (we struggled to find any accessible toilets for 45 minutes) and Chania (stick to the port area), Platanias gave us many more options. Back to the hotel, the breakfasts buffet was a stand out experience. So much choice and it was so fresh. My partner thought he was in heaven when he discovered the sweet treat room!! However what really set Minoa Palace apart was the staff. They honestly could't do enough for you. They were always friendly and welcoming with nothing being too much trouble. A special mention to Zoe who was fantastic. We will definitely be returning to Minoa Palace and staying in an imperial seafront room.

Dear Exiledgiraffe, We wish to express our appreciation for your preference in Minoa Palace Resort and also for the time you took to share your experience at the TripAdvisor. We were glad to read that our professional staff met your expectations and that you enjoyed our delicious food at our restaurants as well as our premises. However, we have noted with special concern your comments and we are really sorry that we seem we have failed to meet fully your expectations as a five star property. Unfortunately none of your above concerns was brought to our attention during your stay with us in order to pursue an alternative option or to find a solution for anything that we might were able to handle. Please be assured that it is never in our intention to disappoint our guests, and that our priority will always be to provide them with an exemplary service and quality. Therefore, we do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the near future for the exceptional stay you deserve. Best Regards, Maria Skliva Guest Relations Manager

Minoa Palace exceeded all expectations! Highly recommend the resort. Staff were exceptional, welcoming, and friendly. The hotel is perfectly located for any occasion. Beach with access to snacks and drinks for convenience and walking distance to town. Minoa Palace is a five-star hotel for a very good reason.

Service was great, especially in the reception. Food was delicious and choises were various. Sommelier at restaurant did qreat job. Location was good and the hotel even had own beach. Beach towels were included, no need to bring your own. There was a handy local bus to Chania (10 km), bus stop in from of the hotel. Free Wi-fi was quick and worked well. But most of the premises were outdated. All the outdoor pools were cold, which was not good when visiting in early may’s windy days. For the children Indoor pool was offered one hour per day ( 10-11). Unfortunately it was cold water as well. Jacuzzi was warm. Rooms were clean, but cleaning of floors should have been better (they were sandy). Had to ask fill-ups for minibar even to milk and sugar. Nice hotel, but have to say, that it is not a five star hotel.

Hotel, service and breakfast were great. I'm just wondering how this hotel can be a five star hotel if there is no air conditioning on. Our room was literally 30 degree celsius because there was heating on, so we did not sleep at all for a week. We tried to keep our balcony door open over night, but there came plenty of mosquitos inside our room so it were not possible. Also there were school right opposite our room so every morning plenty of noise coming from there, so thats why we had to keep our balcony door also closed. There is three things that are must in hotel what im choosing and those are air condition, balcony and good bed. I'm not coming back to this hotel.

Dear Petteri T, We wish to express our appreciation for your preference in Minoa Palace Resort and also for the time you took to share your experience at TripAdvisor. We were glad to read that you have highly rated the service from our professional staff as well as that you enjoyed our breakfast's variety and quality. However, we have noted with special concern your comments and we are really sorry that we seem to have failed to fully meet your expectations as a five star property. In regards to the A/C system, as we previously explained by person during your stay, it is operating as a one unit for each building. On the days you spent with us the weather was cold and rainy and during the night the maximum temperature was up to 11-12 degrees Celsius. At this time the majority of our guests were cold and were asking for the A/C to be turned to the heating mode. Additionally, following your request, we provided you with a fan in order to have the temperature of the room settled close to the most suitable one for you. Please be assured that it is never in our intention to disappoint our guests, and that our priority will always be to provide them with exemplary service and quality. Therefore, we do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the near future for the exceptional stay you deserve. Best Regards, Maria Skliva Guest Relations Manager

This hotel was the perfect place for my husband and I to spend our honeymoon. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We had a complimentary bottle of red wine on arrival and because it was our honeymoon the staff brought us a bottle of Prosecco, strawberries and chocolate and walnuts drizzled with honey. We made use of the spa and both had a massage which was fantastic - would definitely recommend a visit here if you can. The food was very good and fresh. The pool area was very relaxing, we had a room with a private pool but unfortunately didn’t get to use this as it was quite cold but the weather wasn’t on our side for the time we were here so I’m sure it would be wonderful in the warmer months. Cannot fault this hotel and would definitely come back.

We stayed for 10 days in Minoa palace and overall experience was wonderful. The staff is extremely polite, professional, friendly and service oriented. The hotel itself is very well located 20 min drive from Chania town, on a small shopping street in Platanias. The beach is just on the other side of the main building and is connected with a bridge for easy access. The breakfast and dinner buffet had plenty of choices for every taste. The hotel is very clean and has nice outdoor pool area with multiple bars serving nice cocktails. Highly recommended for any families looking for holidays in Crete.

Wonderful few days at this hotel. It’s a pleasant hotel with one side of the road the garden part of the hotel and the other side the beach. Connected by a bridge. The road wasn’t really busy and we could hardly tell the hotel was split, it was so seamlessly connected. The garden side is elevated and there are good views of the bay, the beach side is right on the beach, which is clean and pleasant. Multiple pools, bars and restaurants but well spread and so doesn’t feel overly crowded and still manages to feel fairly intimate. Really very friendly and helpful staff - this stood out as a highlight of the visit for us - thank you particularly to Zoe at reception and the sommelier in the buffet restaurant for the outstanding recommendations and great conversation (changed our view of Greek wine for the better and deepened our affection for Crete and its people!) We stayed in a beach room with a private pool. Plenty of room for 3 people and still lots of room to sit. Gazebo at the beach reserved for us every day as part of the room and lots of extras (wine, food delivery in the afternoon etc). Really felt like special treatment. Was worth the money. We had to do quite a bit of planning to use all the extras (and still didn’t manage to use the free 3 course a la carte!). Breakfast at the beachside Thalassa restaurant was excellent. Food at the buffet was excellent - a range of salads, dips, main courses from the oven and freshly prepared. All using high quality local ingredients. breakfast at the beachside restaurant was also very good with a wide selection of hot and cold dishes, yoghurts, fruits, pastries etc. The spa was also good and we enjoyed the facials and massage. Indoor pool, sauna and hammam were fine too. The indoor pool is generally adults only but because the weather was a bit cold in April they opened it to kids too for part of the day. Along the road some supermarkets and shops. Loved ‘DressVoice’ a local designer designing and making lovely clothes in linen, silk and other natural fabrics.

We had a fantastic time, the staff were friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The A la carte restaurant didn't have much that we fancied on offer but there are plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance and they do a buffet menu in the main hotel that's very nice.
