This is the second lunchtime visit to the restaurant at L'Escale this season and both have been excellent. The restaurant is in a simple set of adjoining rooms with tables covered in faux cowhide tablecloths. The restaurant's strengths can be summed up in two phrases - the friendliness of the staff and the delicious food! Taking the latter first, they...

I will never return to this hotel. The long walk with all the luggage from the car park via the ... to the hotel was hard, but not unexpected as the hotel is located on the mountain. The fact that nothing is organized in the evening to have some fun and that the bar closes at 9.30 is a pity,...

Dear Quintmm, Thank you for your comment about your stay at L'Escale. I understand that you and your friends staying in the same room decided to write diffamatory remarks about L'Escale. All guests must follow the hotel policies, therefore when it is not respected and after you insisted rudely, the only way was to indeed involve the police; you even...

we spent a week skiing in Chatel, and being well looked after by Sarah and her team. This property is the only one in the area that is up on the ski slopes rather than in the village I chose it because we love to stay where we can ski in/ski out You must be back in the lodge before...

09:30 PM, the drunk owner Sarah came in and yelled at all the guests who were playing scrable and cardgames. She told everyone to go to their rooms because she wanted to afterparty with her friends. I will never come back. Even some of the staff didn't understand why Sarah acted like this. If you wish to have fun and...

Dear Bobby Thank you for your comment about your stay at L'Escale; I now know that you were disrepecteful from the beginning until the end. This is abolutely inapropriate to make such difamatory remarks, I am however not surprised. I remember you apologizing about your behaviour the previous day when you refused to leave the bar when I asked you...

Excellent hotel. Very efficient staff who take a real pride in the place so nice to see. Nothing is to much trouble, always a smile on their faces. Everything so clean. Food again is excellent, good examples of regional food. So nice to be away from traffic and have peace and quiet staying up the mountain.

Best food in chatel! Excellent staff! Keep up the good work! I Will recommend this to everyone. Hotel Needs a little update (in progress) A sauna or pool would be nice. A bummer you can't go down to the village during the evening when you are staying at the hotel.(except on friday)

We ate here 2 days in a row for lunch as 1 family of 4 and with another family. The service is super friendly and they also don't bug you when you're trying to chat. The food is excellent!! The best in Chatel for us so far. The caramelised onion in the burgers is a very nice touch. Kids happy,...

Ideal for a week "unwined"ing. Even with little snow we spend a relaxing time in the mountains. Rooms are reasonable size, more than we expect for skiing in france. The people are very very friendly, the food is good and certainly enough. We ll be back!
